It just occurred to me after watching this, how much Lan Zhan must have missed Wei Ying calling his name for the sixteen years in which Wei Ying was dead... The amount of people crying under my comment makes me feel like a villain LMFAO... SUFFER!!!!! just like I did-

the way that almost immediately they were on birth name basis when everyone else still used either wei wuxian or hanguang jun to refer to them

You got the last scene in the end and we hear "Wei". Most people have missed this. Now we know they are together, eh!

The only person that has ever come close to defeating wei ying’s “ Lan Zhan” is Wen ke xing’s “Ah Xu” from word of honour.

Here's the thing. In the series, wwx and lwj almost never call each other by their courtesy names, even after the time gap. (I saw this in a comment that's also on here with the total amount of times they say each other's names, but) Wei ying calls lwj "lan wangji" (his courtesy name) only five times over fifty episodes, and Lan Zhan called him wei wuxian ONCE. This doesn't seem like anything, but then you look at the other characters and their relationships with others. In the entire show, Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan, who are one of the only canon couples in the untamed, never call each other by their birth names, despite being "engaged." (This is either because it's never mentioned at all or just not mentioned in the live action version.) Then Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji, who are BIOLOGICAL brothers (I think), also only call each other by their courtesy names, or Hanguang Jun and Zewu Jun respectively. The best friends, everyone's favorite junior quartet, also call each other by their names, except for jin ling, who hasn't reached the age for it (otherwise most people would call him Jin Rulan.) For example, Lan Sizhui is almost never called A-Yuan by his closest friends or even his "brother," Lan Jingyi, but only by his father figures, Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian (plus Wen Ning, but only because he asked to). Historically, in China, given names were only used by immediate family, *romantic partners*, and close friends. Lwj and Wwx are not sworn brothers, and while they are close friends, they're most definitely more, despite what chinese censorship might tell you. (Literally everyone knows that the book's the gayest thing in existence, the live action adaptation doesn't change that.) In conclusion, them using their given names for each other is a dead giveaway that they're fucking in love, and I do not take criticism. Thank you for this unnecessarily long analysis of given names vs. courtesy names and the gayness of using each.

That “Wei Wuxian” and “Lan Wangji” breaks my heart every time I watch it…They are both hurting and so angry that I would have kicked that Wen guy’s ass myself…if only Wei Ying would have explained to Lan Zhan what really happened and why he HAD to switch to demonic cultivation, so much heartache could have been avoided 😭😭😭…love love love 💕 💕 💕 the video btw!!!!

How Lan Wangji Really Knew It Was Wei Wuxian: *says Lan Zhan 10 billion times in a row*.

I was shocked at how talented my inner reading voice suddenly became when the comment, in the beginning, was posted, with their names in different fonts. It's like you can hear the scenes they're from.

As you can hear Wei's way of calling Zhan changes it was once a happy & cheerful "Lan Zhan" but it changed a sad and non cheerful "Lan Zhan"

Damn, the dedication, kudos to you for putting this together 👀 It's actually fascinating to see it emphasized how much it's just wwx pestering lwj at the beginning and how, slowly, the occasional 'wei ying' starts appearing here and there and to basically have the entire emotional rollercoaster of the show summarized through just their names and the way they say them 😄 I'd say that was 6 minutes and 29 seconds well spent 😄

Wow, this compilation is awesome! Thank you for your work! It totally escaped me, that Wei Ying heard Lan Zhans voice when he fell into the burial mounds. This episode after he came back from the burial mounds and tried to keep his distance to Lan Zhan by addressing him more courteously was really heartbreaking :-/ Also awesome how soft the very last "Wei Ying" sounded -- such a romantic ending :D

I love how the (voice) actors portray their characters, the way LZ said sharply "Wei Wuxian" and how WY said with such an undertone "Lan Wangji" back still mesmerizes me -it is actually one of my absolute fav scenes of the whole drama and how soft LZ calls "Weiying" back when he walks out to the edge of the cliff 😢 waaaah such amazing (voice) actors 👏 bravo Thanks for this compilation, all your time and effort are much appreciated~ ♡
