I actually don't have any time to discover New School Music while I'm constantly Discovering Old School Music from Much Better Days. Thank you for sharing this, Jewel.
Absolute gem 💎of a soul track. From the first note to the last - pure class. I wonder how many more hidden musical gems are waiting to be discovered... Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾 Seasons Greetings to you and yours. Peace and Blessings 🙏🏾
This song comes from the CD "Eccentric Soul: A Red, Black & Green" Production, released in 2012. Also recorded by The Moments featuring Mark Greene, this group also featured Mark Greene.
There is so much music history that I missed and me discovering this group is a major achievement on my part. Great describes them as much as The Moments. This song is proof of that.
I barely heard this song today only because I was stocking someone's fb. But this time it was worth it. Lol. Definitely drinking to this one later on 🍻
I agree with Fred. Music from the past especially R&B is and still is respected. Who would of known that in your basement, street corner , park, at home, in those days you were heard singing , you were called upon with respect and an interview with a recording . There is what has started the whole record deal. Nowadays, no one wants to hear you cause there are too many of the same gener happening or they see someone that they are able to control unless you have it, under control.❤❤❤❤
Ever never heard this group before. The four of them does have the voices. That Berry gordy should have looked into. They do sound professional. Where are they now.
Mark Greene (at least spell his name correctly) did indeed sing with The Exceptions and The Moments briefly but the leads on this song are credited to Lorin Brown and Solomon Cunningham. On the ultra-rare lp/collection "Urban Legacy," Greene only takes lead on 1 song - 'We're In Love'. Similar titles so maybe that's where the confusion comes in.
I thought the edition by "The Moments" was the beginning of a great song which I could not find a song as good by an yon else. This just as good so I find myself reliving the words attributed to The Moments. When I hear this song and listen to the words my mind is instantly transported to (soul) presence of my best friend who (also) just happens to be my 7-year-old grandson. I have pondered the question of why and how so much feeling goes into our special relationship and with hearing and paying more attention to the words , I have come to the conclusion that "It Must Be Love." Plain & simple, no fillers. I used to think that having a "soul mate" meant a relationship between a guy and gal or some mundane affair like the distractions one faces when sex or sensuality come into play, but now I know that "real love" is far beyond the earthly because I now realize that pure love comes from God alone and once freed from the tenets human relations what is left is what I now know to fulfill the words, "It Must Be Love."
Please...Anyone! Any more info about this recording? I know this version came from a Numero group compilation, but there's another version I found here on RU-vid, labeled as being by the Moments. It has brass and string sections too! I wish the quality of the other version was as good as this one. Could this be the original lineup of the moments (not Ray, Goodman and Brown)? I have a hunch, that the original lineup recorded this as the Exceptions, and it went unreleased.
To the younger generation this is music you heard. We didn't have to do all that cursing and singing vile songs calling ladies names and sexual sex parts.
