One of the most shocking executions throughout the reign of King Henry VIII saw a woman being boiled alive in front of a huge crowd. Henry VIII changed the laws of the Kingdom to ensure that those convicted of poisoning could be boiled alive. Margaret Davy was this woman and she was boiled in 1542 in Smithfield in the same place that years earlier Richard Roose was also boiled.
