2:50 Funny thing is in the Kenobi book from Legends set in his early period looking after Luke on Corruscant, he never intended for people to know his last name. He chose to just go under “Ben” until someone overheard him speaking his last name while in meditation, letting the whole of Mos Eisley know about it. It’s even joked about that with people pretty much saying “Look, there are so many Kenobis out there. Who’s to tell who he really is?”

I think I agree with a lot of folks. Keep Obi-Wan on Tatooine, make it a Logan/Unforgiven introspective story. Keep the action short but intense.

That’s what I was so confused about in new hope, he just cuts a dude’s fuckin arm off like it’s no big deal after spending decades of hiding and not using the force or a saber or any of that, and then just gives it all up the second luke gets old enough to meet him. I’d understand using it in privacy, but in a well known cantina full of backstabbers and criminals? Reckless. There were better ways to get luke out of that fight without giving up the thing you’ve been keeping up for decades without a second thought. Also I’m gonna be really disappointed if darth maul doesn’t show up in the kenobi show

Honestly I'm glad that Rebels was where we saw the conclusion of Maul's story. As I think Dave Filoni was the perfect man to tell the rest of his story. Mainly do to the fact that he more than anyone fleshed out his character to begin with in the Clone Wars. IDK if before that if their was any comics or books that came before the series that did that. But even if they did they weren't that well known to the larger audience and also they aren't canon anymore. All that mattered after Disney bought SW for Maul was his one appearance in the films where we learned very little about the character. And then Clone Wars which really fleshed him out. So it only made sense for basically the sequel series to CW which is what I view Rebels to kind of be. Seeing how like with Maul you also had Ahsoka, Rex and Hondo just to name the more main characters that appear in both series. So I think it was the perfect place for Maul journey to come to an end. I also don't think some fans know just how amazing that final duel between Obi Wan and Maul is. Seen so many fans bitch about how short it was but that was the point. For starters it was hearkening back to what light sabers duels were supposed to be like which was classic Samurai duels in films which would of course usually be shorter battles where every single strike was meant to have the intention of killing the other. With very little wasted movements or grand chirography. Which is more in line with the original films compared to what we see in the prequels which are a lot of grand long battles with a lot of flips and twirls of the saber. Another thing like brought up in this video basically the battle is all done before they ever start fighting. It's all in the setup and the stances. Obi Wan knows if he pulls out Qui Gon stance that it would bait Maul into trying to the same thing he used to kill him. Which meant that Obi Wan knew a perfect counter to that move to end the fight. And that was exactly what happened. I mean it would have been pointless if Obi Wan does that only for Maul to go to that move only for Obi Wan to block it and to continue fighting him and ending the duel in some other way. As WTF would have even been the point of pulling out the stance. I guess another option would have been for him to bait him into that only for Maul not to fall for it or for him to actually have a counter to the counter which could have worked. But I still think its much more perfect for them to have ended it the way they did. As it shows just how damn serious Obi Wan is about protecting Luke and that he wasn't messing around at all and wanted to end it as quickly as possible and in a way he knew would for sure do that. As I think without that move he would have felt that Maul would have had the chance of beating him. And then it also shows just how single minded Maul is in his revenge not even thinking about it being a possible bait and just thinking he for has him beat.

Speaking of Joel Edgerton, his new Netflix movie The King looks amazing. He co-wrote and co-stars, and the trailer has me pumped.

How to bring back Darth Maul in Obi wan Series: Force 👏 visions 👏 I always thought it’d be cool for Obi to have like a Force fueled journey where he fights his previous enemies like Maul, Grievous, maybe even some of the Clone Wars villains like Ventress and Savage Opress which would the first time we see them in live action.

The story of Obi-Wan in between movies reminds me of Mike from Better Call Saul. He's taking off jobs as a bodyguard or whatever and sends stuff to take care of Luke

Ben starts a moisture farm, and initially it doesn't go so well, but by the end of the mini-series he manages to farm a sufficient amount of moisture. He pulls out his laser sword a couple times to kill some mosquitoes, but there needs to be a scene where he calls them something other than mosquitoes because star wars.

Even in a magical universe, "a planet where everyones nice to each other" is the most unlikely thing I've heard so far.

In retrospect, the practical effect of Kenobi's cloak losing its shape and dropping was pretty fantastic.

I reckon itd be good if they stuck with the prequel era fight style (fast paced, maybe less flips) but towards the end he gets quite seriously injured and isnt able to fight the same way anymore. Hence why he has such a poor showing against Vader in a new hope

If Kenobi goes on for multiple seasons I think they should do a live action version of Maul vs Obi-Wan on Tattooine. Focus clearly on his perspective leading up to the fight and I think it would be one of the greatest moments in SW. Loved it in Rebels but it would be even better to see it done in live-action.

I’d love to see the Obi Wan show do a Logan and have Obi Wan be really reluctant to start fighting and that cos he’s so concerned with watching over Luke but his compulsion to help people is what brings back out the classic Kenobi who is thrown into a predicament or adventure

Apart from dueling with Maul, protecting Luke and fighting villains and scum in Mos-Eisley, I'd like to see him go to Coruscant underground and have adventures there involving monstrous crime lords and imperial spies. Basically what we would have seen in 1313 but we never got.

I hope he goes to visit Alderaan to meet with Bail and has some interaction with little Leia. It would also be cool if he helps save the Organa family from a close call with Vader to prevent him (Vader) from encountering little Leia.

I want an entire episode done in the Obi-Wan voice.

These are all great ideas. I think it should tie heavily into Solo (by having him fight crimson dawn or something) and should feature Maul and Qui Gon.

I really hope the series is just Obi-one running for his life a Vader hunts down the last jedi and looks like a badass doing it. Ending in the place of exile after being a hero of something.

I reckon it'd be a pretty interesting twist if part of Obi Wan's responsibility to watch over Luke - (drum-roll) also involves killing Luke, if say Luke actually went through with enrolling at the Imperial Academy. In essence finishing what he could never go through with when he had the chance to kill Vader. Because Imperial Academy is a path to the Dark Side. Imperial Academy leads to being found out as Force-Sensitive, being found out as Force-Sensitive leads to Inquisitor, Inquisitor... leads to becoming an Inquisitor.

i wish they put the maul death scene in the series, its by far my favorite and the most beautiful scene in all star wars

Anakin is pretty much the chosen one. He brings balance to the force, the prequels were centred around him a lot and how he's the chosen one, and one of the arcs in Season 3 of the clone wars solidifies it.

okay it just occurred to me that during most of this timeline Ahsoka is alive and active so it's perfectly feasible for her to appear in this show.....I don't really think they're gonna include her, but they could!!! it would honestly make me so happy!! Live action Ahsoka!!!

So is there an in-universe explanation as to why when he fights Darth Vader he just taps saber tips with him for awhile looking winded? I mean if he can still fight with cool moves and shit when he fights Maul then does he just decline rapidly after that?
