I just saw this. It wasn't terrible but at the end it all kinda fell apart. Up til then it was interesting , they had a bunch of story lines that they just abandoned to start throwing in scary stuff. If you're a Russell Crowe fan you'll probably enjoy it, and David Hyde- Pierce is quite good. If you want to be really scared though, don't bother.

I have noticed how more and more actors and actresses are starting to evolve more into a straight recognition of a certain type of role or title in future movies. Perhaps Crowe now wants to be remembered now, not as the star from Gladiator, etc but now as the unholy or holy priest roles that he now wants to do. Makes sense. Kind of how Stewart wanted fans to recognize him

I've been disappointed so many times. You're absolutely right. The 1973 film hit home runs on every metric. The writing, makeup, the casting, the voice- over with Mercedes McCambridge, the LIMITED use of a musical score,& unlike most horror films of today....very little gore. A masterpiece 👌!!!

People please look up this movie before thinking it’s a sequel to The Popes Exorcist……..it’s not!! If it was Russels character would be in his 90’s. If you look up The Georgetown Project you’ll see that this was the original title for it in 2019, but that was changed to The Exorcism, in production.

When I first read the synopsis and the Exorcist family connection, I had hopes that it would be a somewhat biographical character study of a brilliant but troubled man, but after viewing trailer I'm really disappointed that they have gone the standard possession horror movie route.
