I am going to say this again Telltale do not repeat history and have multiple projects were the licensing saps your budget before projects are even completed. Where is Wolf Among Us 2? Isn't the WAU 2 the first game you guys are going to release? Why am I seeing Expansive? I hope you have the budget , the team to be working on two projects and paying licensing for. Hope the best but rather just see you promote one project at a time.

welcome back and really happy to see you back!!! your tales from the borderlands, wolf among us and especially 1st season of the walking dead were a big part of my childhood and I still bear so many good memories about them

@@Adr1an511 6/10. Extremely underwhelming, especially compared to the original Telltale Tales. Not actively bad, I think, you’ll probably laugh a few times, but Gearbox just couldn’t live up to the masterpiece Telltale created years ago.

Does the show follow the books? I have somany unanswered questions after the series finale.

@@StndbyHD1 It does follow the books, it's not a one to one remake but it's very accurate to the books. They took a couple liberties, but they don't divert from the main themes or story. You can pick up the last 3 books after watching the show and it will all make sense aside from one character.

I'd personally argue that the choice making in the Telltale games were more about eliciting the feeling of having players make choices over the actual consequences of their choices. It's worth remembering that games with branching paths and consequences for choices can be costly and complicated to make, especially from a narrative perspective. Telltale was already struggling financially when they were at their prime, and yet they were still able to make Season 2 of Walking Dead have three different endings based on your choices and even have Batman Season 2's final episode be two completely different stories depending on the choices made in previous episodes.

Also most "multiple ending" games just have Good Ending, Bad Ending, Meh Ending, and everyone is going to go for the good ending in that case. It's tough to make multiple endings that are nuanced and have upsides AND downsides

Me either never really cared for that stuff either to a certain degree but if it's coming from teltale I'm more than willing to give it a try!

Appreciate that. FWIW, The Expanse is not typical Sci-Fi at all. It's some gritty stuff happening between Earth, Mars, and the belt. But we do hear ya. Thanks!

Telltale was able to get me into things I otherwise wouldn't have discovered for myself. I credit them for helping me find my love for Back to the Future, and the first trailer for this game actually got me into the Expanse!

@@NoiceBOB well on the side of Telltale, this will their first release back in the industry, an industry that needs indie support :D! as for gaming as a whole were said to be getting some of the best AAA releases in a while! (fingers crossed nothing gets pushed) but looking forward to Bethesda's release as well as DLC for Elden Ring

This isn't really the first time Telltale used more realistic graphics, as they did so for projects like Jurassic Park and even Guardians of the Galaxy. Their overall design aesthetic fitted a cartoon better for sure, but they have at least experimented with using actual skin and cloth...but the limitation of the Telltale Engine made them the textures look horrendous. Going for stylized comic-book textures just worked better in the older engine...that and most of the properties they were adapting benefited from the comic book aesthetic (Walking Dead was adapted from the comics, Batman obviously, and they had to match the Borderlands cel-shaded aesthetic regardless. And while it wasn't great, I did appreciate Telltale experimenting with a fantasy/medieval painting style for Game of Thrones).

Realistic? Honestly? What world do you live in? The very first thing I thought was that the graphics looked cartoonish (Im not saying that's bad) I'm ok with that from a design perspective if the storyline/telling is as engaging (at LEAST) as the Netflix series. Good gameplay is important as well...

The Expanse was never really meant to be straight up space horror, especially in regards to Dead Space's approach. However, the Expanse is chock full of tense moments of survival, conflicts, and definitely a few horror related roots...especially with the infamous protomolecule (which I doubt this game will explore being a prequel and all).

Oooh boy the main book series and first couple of seasons in their TV show definitely have some horror vibes going, definitely not quite dead space.. but I'll be interested to see if any of it translates over here

Omg glad to know someone else remembers Minecraft: story mode I was playing it earlier and I literally LOVE it and I'm not going to lie but the second season feels really incomplete idk why but there's just something about it that just makes it seem so incomplete.
