In the age that AI is claimed to be alive, it's so comforting to see God's man teaching His words.

What an awesome Teacher of the scripture. I wish I found him years ago before his passing. It would have really helped my walk with the Lord

This information is so important and yet so often neglected! The Bible is a supernatural book. But it's not, "magic", in the sense that you can open it anywhere, lift out a verse or passage and expect to know what's going on. The normal rules of reading comprehension still apply. I am shocked at how many even professing Christians don't seem to know that. The first thing I did when I got saved 30+ years ago was to read through the Bible. Did I understand much? No! But I read it through. I didn't just pick out verses here and there. Even with no background, I knew that I had to have the context, not just individual verses. I think there are some professing Christians who've been in church for decades who haven't read through the Bible, or even through some full books within the Bible! Mind boggling. How can we live for Christ when we have so little understanding of what He has said in His Word?

How can the thing formed be greater Than the ONE who formed it Man is a fool Repent and come to your maker

"The Explicit and the Implicit: Knowing Scripture with R.C. Sproul" Kind Sir...Your Title and your foreword...is one of my long-time Pet-Peeve with...(Sorry for the VERY long "comment". But I believe it NEEDS to be espoused). And... ...NO disrespect towards you. For I believe: that one of the major reasons that Christians, etc, misinterpret a lot of verses...and worse: they will almost believe a DIFFERENT interpretation; of given verses; from Gen to Rev! Yes, But OH So true. And this is why there over 3,500 DIFFERENT: "Denominations, Doctrines and Dogma's", etc! ALL over the world. And EACH group says the same thing, "WE are right and YOU are wrong! AND we get OURS from the bible!" So, pondering this earthly, quintessential, satan-led, Godless "quagmire", for many years; I prayed sincerely to Jesus; to give me Wisdom, Understanding and the truth. AMEN! And now I believe that the reason we have ALL of these DIFFERENT "theses" all over the world; is they got it from the bible. Believe it not. And for the last 15 yrs; I have proven that. Just a few examples: 1. James said one must have "Works" with Faith; to be saved in James 2:24: and Paul said, "ONLY Faith; and NO Works; are needed to be saved in Ephesians 2:8-9. (Like the Methodist Church vs Baptist Church) And they will NEVER change! and BOTH say they are right. because the bible says it! Yes it does...oh well!) 2. Moses said this in Deuteronomy 24:1 Vs Jesus said this in Mathew 19:3-8 3. Mathew said this in Mathew 1:1 and Jesus said in John 8:58 and Mathew 22:41-45. And UNTOLD other contradictions from Gen to Rev. Believe it or not! Of course 99% of the Christian World, the Islam World and the Jew world, etc; would say ABSOLUTE NO! And they have that right. But with me and my house; we shall say the errors, myths, contradictions, additions, deletions and outright bold LIES; ARE from satan... But we are NOT going to throw our bibles in the garbage can! Rather: we will continue to pray to Jesus and often; to guide, lead and direct us; around the lies from satan; and steer us to the truths of Jesus. Praise His Holy name. AMEN! End of Story and I rest me case... ...In any case kind Sir, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN!

I love his teaching. I had the privilege to meet him a couple of times in Houston, TX and autographed my bible. He was extraordinary!! I listen to him every day. I hope RC Jr. Follows his steps. I couldn't explain how blessed I am to have known Dr. R C Sproul.

I always enjoy these videos. Thank you for preserving and making them available to all.

12:14 Following hermeneutical principles we observe that every time sons of God is used in the Bible, it has always referred to angels. Up to the 3rd century this interpretation has been without controversy until Julius Africanus in 260 AD interpreted it as the Godly line being Seth's and the ungodly line belonging to Cain.Since Augustine accepted that interpretation, it became the most prevalent in church circles but is not correct. The nephilim were demigods and when we understand them in that context, all of a sudden all mythology starts making sense. Though I agree with Dr. Sproul that Paul doesn't mean that angels are going to lust after women during Church service, but that the angels being used to hierarchy in heaven, also prefer to see it in God's kingdom on Earth aka, the church, the main thing to focus on is the principal of male headship and authority.

Even if Jesus appeared in locked roooms that proves nothing about us, Jesus is God. There are no female angels in Scripture. Angles are spirits they don't have physical bodies. And if they could just that would make them sinners, which would make them demons not angels.

I find it interesting that if you follow the narrative in Luke 24, Jesus appeared in the midst of the eleven and "those that were with them" directly after the two friends had explained what they had just experienced on the road to Emmaus. At first the two couldn't recognize Him until the veil had been lifted, and after it had been lifted He had disappeared from before their eyes only to reappear in their midst again along with the other disciples. Even if we don't really know what happened, the probability of Jesus walking through solid objects seems pretty low based on the Scriptures. I also don't think that He had revealed Himself in His glorified body at that moment in time. It would probably have been to much to handle if you think about the reactions of the prophets when confronted with the Glory of God.

No one can be justified, sanctified and glorified unless it is granted to him by the Father.

women ought to cover their heads for the angels means to model to them submission. Remember a third of the angels rebelled against God. God is in to bringing us in to submission to authority. In the end God will get rid of rebellious creatures before He establish the New Heaven and New Earth, the Restored Eden, through His Last Adam.
