@@rosettajones1161 genius..absolutely! however, i don't believe this was a "gift from god" as he believed ...i firmly believe this was purely down to DNA...he had amazing genes passed on from his parents and his ancestors..many black people have great strong genes especially in terms of vocal ability, musical ability and physicality. i LOVE black people.

@@Dion_Mustard yes I love being a black woman medium brown complexion. I know most of us also are gifted and very talented because of our Gene's. DNA speaks for itself. I still say All gifts/talents derives from God. It is in all people, but mostly in us as a culture.

The Harlem Blues & Jazz Band (with Eddie Durham) performs at The Waldorf Astoria for The very first Rock ’n Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony inducting “Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Buddy Holly, the Everly Brothers, Ray Charles, James Brown, Sam Cooke and Jerry Lee Lewis; Non-Performer category were Sun Records founder Sam Phillips and seminal DJ Alan Freed; Early Influence category were blues icon Robert Johnson, country's Jimmie Rogers, and boogie-woogie pianist Jimmy Yancey. Columbia Records' legendary A&R man John Hammond. Eddie Durham recalled: “I played nine years [with Wynonie and Larry Darnell]. I booked us in Richmond, Norfolk, Newport, Georgia with three bands traveling. Little Richard’s five-piece band; my six-piece girl band, a shake-dancer named Sonya Millburn from Canada, Elaine who had the hit record, C.C. Williams and cuban Freddie Benito. Little Richard was just recording then and he got hit right after that tour. But I had Little Richard’s band on one side, my band on another side and the girls in the middle, maybe 17 or 18 pieces altogether. We played the opening together. Little Richard would do the blues and we’d open up altogether with it…feature some guys in my band and some girls on the saxes and then onto somebody else and in the end, Little Richard would come out and sing and we’d close the curtain, then open it back up with the girls band, and they’d do a specialty." Elvis, you better move it on over, 'cause "Eyes" is coming and he'll be singing in that lead spot. Good Golly Mr Gospel, Richard Penniman. He needs to sing only one or two gospel numbers, and he could get Ozzy Osbourne to throw down his bat, and turn his life over to the Big One.

Hey, Mr.Wright .....didn't you use a drummer by the name of James Gadson ....?????.......if so were you aware of his "doowop" recordings on the Federal record label with a group called The Carpets on which he sings lead ??.....they put out 2 ballads each backed with a jump blues one was "why do I " the other was "lonely me" these records are from 1956-1957........he was just a teenager , sounds like Frankie Lymon ......give a listen , they are on you tube !!!!!..................Erik
