To me, it seems like if you're hateful enough to murder someone, you're hateful enough to move a body to a place where the family would find it just to taunt them. I can definitely see someone committing a hate crime, hearing that the police had stopped searching and that the family was going to look and moving his body there to scare them away or to 'teach them a lesson' or whatever sadistic reasoning they came up with.

I hope and pray that everyone that helped protect the killer and the killer get the maximum punishment available in this country. Anyone that could intentionally hurt a person and then compound a families grief by intentionally placing their body where family would find it is a sick, twisted, evil type of person. They shouldn't ever be allowed to feel freedom again. They need locked in a dungeon and the key thrown away until they finally meet their maker

I constantly stress the importance of the buddy system to my 16yr old niece. I’ve given her a set of rules to live by bc she is just starting to drive and has more freedom now. The most important rule being NEVER go anywhere alone, not even to the bathroom! Also never leave a friend alone, if you come together, you leave together. Make sure the location is on your phone, and always message someone to let them know who you’re with. If your plans change, let someone know!! Watching true crime has taught me so much.

My oldest niece is 4 years old right now and I have 3 nieces who are under a year old. I'm going to instill this into them before they are even old enough to go out on their own. I have been following this rule all my life. My mom taught me this and I taught this to my baby sister. My friends and I drop each other off. Wait until they get in. In addition to all this I also got my baby sister a mace because my country is one of the most unsafe places for women. But it is good to hear that you taught this to others and it is a very important life lesson.

You’re a great Auntie! The buddy system is sooo important! I’m in my 30’s, and even now when my BFF and I leave town we tell each other exactly where we’re going, who we’ll be with, when we’re leaving, when we should be arriving and when we will be returning home. We check in whenever possible… the buddy system should never end, even if you’re not together.

You would just bum off one of the dozens of people there....and if he turned the wrong way, he had to reverse his direction to get back - so should have stopped to pick up Zo. Zo's Mom also said in another interview that the guys weren't close friends - and none ever helped in any of the searches, or called her again. She said she’s NOT saying that he walked away, just that him having a sore ankle probably wouldn’t have been the thing that stopped him from being able to walk away given how he was walking around at the party. Again, not that he did walk away, just that it was still physically POSSIBLE for him to walk on his ankle, thus making it POSSIBLE for him to have walked down the road. It’s clearly a VERY low probability that he would have decided to leave the party by walking on the road, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s still a possibility, however unlikely it may be. Hypothetically speaking, he could have gotten in an altercation at the party, realized there wasn’t a possibility of getting a ride with someone and decided to walk away from a scene he knew was dangerous, then ended up being killed (whether by a party goer or someone else living in the area). One way or another we know he was murdered, we just don’t know what took place before he was killed, thus there are many possible speculations and theories for what occurred, including the walking theory.

Number two: anyone who has studied forensics or even watched a couple CSI episodes can tell you, that where there is advanced decay, in contrast with the rest of the body, it's a good indication of injury. So when they found his neck to be in such an advanced state, but the rest of him so pristine, why not investigate that further? Number three: of course they try to do the most convenient thing possible when it doesn't impede on them being caught. So if the area is flooded with people they're going to try to do it very discreetly. Hense him being found where he was found. That's just my 3 cents. Thoughts?

@emelphick4742 3 года назад
This is the first time I've heard of this case and don't know any other details from Reddit threads, etc but good points. I'm only guessing if a forensic medical examiner/autopsy was done, then a toxicology report would have been done as well, maybe just not mentioned here. I'm sure the family would have asked for it too. Your mentioning again about the decomp of the neck compared to the rest of the body now makes me think that if he wasn't hung (autopsy would have shown internal injury or bone broken), then he could have had his neck sliced open & bled out? With the open wound, it makes sense then that insects and animals got to his neck. The thing I don't get is why go to the trouble of hiding his body for a month but leave his boots tossed out on the road like that to be found? And if they're left there, keep them together so it looks more like he took them off himself? And I'm wondering if they dusted the boots for fingerprints?

It seems strange that his shoes and hat were found across the road and then his body discovered a month later just lying out in the open no effort to hide the body. So I don't think someone would go from keeping it hidden in a freezer to then leaving the body out in the open not concealed at all. The body is usually the biggest source of evidence. His body was exhumed July 2020 so you would think they would be closer to the truth by now.

Pat Boone / Jerry Boone - these brothers' names pop up the most in the comments of the blog. It's rumored that they helped perpetrate the murder because one of their female relatives had some interaction with Alonzo at the party. It's also stated in the comments that these brothers were heard bragging that they used a hunting dog shock collar to torture a person of color at some point (unclear if this was Alonzo). Additionally, the Boone family owned a local restaurant and it's rumored that is where Alonzo's body was stored prior to it being dumped. While Pat and Jerry were much older than the majority of the party-goers, many commenters have stated that it would not be uncommon to find these men at a party at which high school and college aged people were present. Even further, apparently members of the Boone family seem to have served on the city counsel or commission or something, and are still to this day prominent members of the community. Tiffany Boone (now Tiffany VanNorman) is rumored to be the girl that Alonzo Brooks had an interaction with that night, which is allegedly the inciting event of the murder.

the theory about him being in the freezer makes so much sense to me. especially out on a farm house where they probably had a freezer to store meat from animals on the farm or if not on this farm he was taken to one probably tied up and put in a trunk and taken there at gunpoint - you know most of these kids would have access to guns being from a small rural farming town it’s second nature to be raised around guns - so he could have been forced by gunpoint to be taken to a meat locker/freezer of some sort where he was frozen alive. or another theory since he was found a whole month later and the body hadn’t been too badly decomposed what if he was kept in a basement or a shed and starved to death or died of dehydration? could have been overlooked because coroners looking for the cause of death of a murder victim wouldn’t expect it to be starvation. i think he was kept somewhere or frozen- possibly both. one more theory is that he died of alcohol poisoning or a drug overdose and it was covered up. weed and beer ain’t the only things these kids do at these small town parties trust me i’ve been to one. it’s a bunch of kids from many surrounding small towns all coming together to get as faded as possible and bring any party favors they can get. either way if that happened they tried to hide it instead of getting him help. i think whoever was involved had parents in law enforcement. in such a small town it’s very common to know multiple people your age who have family on the police force. most likely even connections to the coroner who did the autopsy. that’s why so many crimes like this in towns like these go unsolved it’s a massive cover up bc so and so knows so and so everybody knows everyone. it’s a damn shame. this poor kid man… rest in peace alonzo , prayers and love to you and your family

I think men have a lot to learn from women when it comes to buddy systems and just making sure as a group each individual is safe in situations where you’re out at a party, club or wherever else. I’ve spoken to my own boyfriend in detail and the differences in how things like this are handled when he’s out with his guy friends versus when I’m out with girl friends is shocking. He’s said that on multiple occasions when he is out with friends and one of them is bored and wants to leave early they will go off and get a taxi or walk home by themselves depending on the distance. He’s also said that they have gone to the bathroom while leaving their drinks unattended which again me and my girlfriends would never dream of doing. We make sure when the group needs to split up for any reason (eg going to the bathroom or going out for a cigarette etc) that no one is left unaccompanied, but these are things that my boyfriend and his friends as males dont really think about. Which they should! I’ve advised him of the dangers and told him he needs to be more careful and consider that just because he’s a man doesn’t mean that nothing bad could happen to him. I watch multiple true crime cases and so many of the ones that involve a male going missing or turning up dead begin with them being out partying and then going off on their own without their friends or being separated from them in some way. There’s so much emphasis on women being extra cautious while they are out but we need to really ingrain this in young men from an early age as they can easily become victims too 💜

I hope he’s resting peacefully. I hope his family are as ok as they can be and I send all my love to them. I hope with everything in me they find some closure one day.

My boyfriend is from La Cygne and his family still lives down there, he moved to Kansas City after 6 months of us dating and barely sees his family anymore because him and I are dating and his family kinda made it clear that they don’t want anything to do with me when they’ve only met me once… This December will be 2 years. It’s a sad atmosphere down there and it’s only an hour out of the city.

It truly doesn’t surprise me, I’m about 40 min from that town. For what it’s worth they’re missing out. You are beautiful and you seem like a sweet soul! ❤️

Bro, my eyes instantly watered when the “friend” left Mr. Alonzo at that party 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️. There’s no way he left him at the party like that 🤦🏿‍♂️🤦🏿‍♂️

Men don’t have the same mentality as women for safety in numbers. I really hope this changes, if you truly care for your friends you wouldn’t leave them at a party alone especially if they were already feeling uncomfortable.

It’s just crazy all the white friends made it home safely! It’s weird the only person of color in the friend group, who had no vehicle of his own was left at a party full of people who didn’t want him there 🤔 seems strange

As someone who used to go to those types of parties growing up, in rural farm areas in the middle of no where, u ALWAYS wanna stick with who u went with.. bcus I have stories for days of the messed up things I’ve seen at those parties

I can only imagine how the brother must’ve felt when he saw his body. It probably completely shattered his heart. Poor Alonzo had to be terrified to be left at the party. Rest In Peace 🕊

Definitely a hate crime. Someone at the party knows something but isn’t talking, maybe he’s scared or is protecting the perp.

I feel like whoever had his body, kept it on purpose, and when they knew the family was coming left it out on purpose for them find. To rub salt in the wounds.

I don’t wanna imagine what his family is going through, I don’t care that it is over 17 years since he died, the pain must eaten on them everyday even today. And I feel so sorry for them and for Alonzo as well, he would prolly be a great adult. Rest In Peace.
