Just curious, @5:00 I noticed that you had multiple takes on the change gears while moving, and no shame in that I get nervous in front of a camera and have like 20 of them, but why did u leave it in the final cut?

Thanks, great walkthrough! I know Im about a year late in asking, but did I miss it, or did you not go through setting the speed limit? Im riding my Atlas (which you helped me pick) in Denmark, and we have a speed limit of 25 kph. Id like to be sure Im not going (much) faster than that on my commute...

so are all essay flex boards updatable? I cannot seem to find my board when it connects.. is this app and firmware updates for the newer boards? or can the og flex riot still be updatable? please help I have no clue why I cannot connect it can't even find the boards bluetooth.. plz advise

just unlocked the 4th gear but having trouble connecting to the app. Using apple. I mean the steps sound so simple. I’ve tried turning the board on using the remote then trying to connect. I think my remote is called “TY” but always fails to connect… tried just turning the board on without the remote and there is something else that shows up to connect but still no luck

Hey Nate, I just got the new exway flex for Christmas and was trying it out for the first few times this week. My only problem so far is not being able to reach top speed. The speed I am normally hitting is around 17mph and I weigh sub 150lbs so I know that can’t be the issue. I have changed all the setting I could think of and nothing has worked to get that # up. Things I have changed: acc curve, turbo not turbo, turned off safe mode and none have seemed to work. Any suggestions thxs.

Hey Zach! Have you tried changing the wheel size and gear ratio in the app? That can have an effect on how the motors spin. Have you got the hub motors or riot kit?

Dark Mode? So it's easy 4 me 2 switch 2 dark mode while I'm on the Dash Tab... But how do I switch the app into dark mode while I'm on the Skateboard Tab? I've seen all those sliders and switches in dark mode in another video. So I do know it's possible. Do you know how 2 accomplish this? BTW I'm on a Galaxy Note 8 using Android version 9 :))

I recently subscribed, Great videos. I subscribed @ 993 subscribers now you have reached 1k. I am currently looking for my first electric skateboard for transportation and would like to know the range without turbo mode. Normally I need 10 km of range, but I don't want to charge the battery to 100% so that the battery will last longer. Also I heard that @ 30% the board will lower the performance so if you cover that would also be great. That's me and keep un the good work!!!

Hey Jonathan! Thanks for subscribing! I just hit 1k this morning! I'm assuming you're talking about the Flex, so let me know if it's another board. I have a video lined up for the Exway Flex range-test without turbo mode coming out soon. I can confidently say that it will get more than 10km. The performance does dip when you start nearing the low end of the battery, but 30% seems a bit high. Usually it's around the 15-20% mark. I'll be more conscious of the battery percentage when I do the next test and include it in my video.

how do gears function? why would I start in the 4th gear? does gear only refer to the acceleration or is every gear limited to a certain speed?

The idea of the app is not bad, unfortunately the app is malfunctioning for me every single time I try to use it. At first it worked fine, but that was before it stopped working more than a year ago. I reinstalled it multiple times, tríed another cellphone, it just shuts the app down any time I scroll past the point where you select between Riot and Hub mode. Nothing I can do about it. And now the speed it shows is not correct, since the wheel size can`t be adjusted, which also maked the odometer count total bunk.

A range test without turbo would actually be really interesting because most youtuber don't mention if the board was in turbo or not during the range test

My Exway Flex Riot with cloud wheels should arrive monday so much thanks for this video. It seems the Exway app is essential and the board could not function right without it. Does it require me to use the app when riding? As honestly i cant be bothered turning it on all the time. I hope the board can remember its settings??

Awesome! That is super exciting! You don't need to have the app on when you're riding. The board is ready to go out of the box and you don't HAVE to use the app at all. It's really only if you want to customise your ride and update firmware. If you do decide to make some customisations, then the board will remember your settings. Let me know what you think of the Flex after you've had a ride!

@@eSkateHub it's best to use the app at least once as default is not set to maximum speed/ power out the box. I really don't know why but then again using the app is easy. Just use it once at least, get the most out of it. Many boards don't have such customisability, Exway is ahead with theirs most definitely

Thanks Ahmed. The reason it is important to have a correctly calibrated thumbwheel is so that the acceleration/braking curve can be evenly spread across the distance of the thumbwheel.
