Love the track 'Bill is Dead'. Back to an era when Snub TV was one of the few outlets for a kid to hear indie /alternative. Just this and a few glimpses on the chart show every 3rd week... NOT THE BLOODY DANCE CHART...we'd all wince.
This was the first time I came across Mark and The Fall. Snub TV was my fav program back in the day for everything new and music. This made me look up. Crazyness but good. RIP Mark.
Cut Scenes in music video of MES urinating and the exciting --Mark struggles with the hand dryer, can be seen in the deleted scenes portion of the DVD.
Snub and a show called Transmission that was on ITV at 2 am on a Tuesday. I used to get riled when the The Chart Show putting Erasure (or similar) as one of the indie selections just because they were on Mute.
Thanks for the upload. I don't suppose you have the 'Revenge' interview that was on the same episode (I think you can them at the start of this interview, just fading out)?
Fuckin' hell MES biggin' up hip-hop! Now THAT is fucking great to hear--and he's right about it been the most literate music around at this time...this woulda been a couple of years into the TRue Golden Era Of Hip-Hop, holy shit the man had good taste...Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy had not long dropped, you had BDP's Edutainment, Ice-T-s Original Gangsta, the Native Tongues and all the Queensbridge dudes....just when you thought MES couldn't surprise you anymore, he fucking goes and does it! I love that quote when he was on The Tube with a load of synth-pop acts and fey indie crap and Bo Diddley was touring the UK (appearing on the show too, I believe) and said to MES: "You were the only god-damned rock 'n roll band on this show tonight".
@BuyKurious have you got the full SnubTV episode this interview came from? I am after the Depth Charge video that is sandwiched between this and The Sundays "Joy" video. Great upload by the way - Telephone Thing is a great track/video.
Wow, i was hoping that one day i could surely talk and understand english as a bilingual... No. More as someone who's coming from, dunno somewhere like Edimburgh with a pure north's accent :). But now it appears me that it is strictly impossible for me speaking like this, for one reason: I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT HE SAYS IN THE INTERVIEW because of his kind of slurried speech.
