I don't think you're quite aware of what is being hinted at as happening in the show, and because of that you're turning it off... I feel bad for you because it'll all make sense at the end of the season! 🤷‍♂

​@@0swren I cant watch another full season of garbage in the hopes for a payoff at the end. It feels like some creative genius has written out an amazing overarching storyline then handed it off to the most incompetent buffoons to fill in the gaps. It was like this last Dr but there was enough positives (for me) to enjoy it. I genuinely cant think of a positive from the first 2 episodes aside from some exciting cliff-hangers.

I turned off half way through Space Babies, and haven't seen another episode since. Talking babies in peril from their accumulated snot which has become sentient in the form of a 'bogeyman' (audience expected to chorus with 'ooh, that's clever!) If the monster had been formed from their soiled nappies, it would be more apt - this sort of patronising ____ is more worthy of CBBC

That's fair enough. My primary focus is the writing but Jinx just was a bit too much for me. They were giving it their all, I can't deny that. Characterisation of the Doctor and Ruby is a bit thin to me. (I have watched 73 Yards and even at that, beyond abandonment issues, there's not much on the script page to flesh out Ruby in my opinion)

She is not "they / them" herself. (Just for the record, by the way. I don't give a fuck about pronouns myself - only in the grammatical-gender-less English language could you even have this debate - but I value accuracy.)

Its worse. Chibnall's era felt like a boring forgettable dream. This is like a nightmare.

So maybe take your own advice and find a different channel to watch. OR you could just accept the fact that people are going to critique the media that's being put out for them to consume-- especially a series as high profile as Dr. Who-- even if you don't agree with/like the critique.

@@biosaari I disagree. I think we're on course for a peak season, but time will tell and people will have different views on this. Knowing exactly what happened is not necessary and I suspect there are still pay-offs to come in later episodes. I've watched DW for 50 years, I know what 'worst' episodes look like and we are a very long way away from that.

@@sofajockeyUK I agree with you that it is not necessary to know what happened exactly. Some of the best Whos leave a mystery. The problem with this episode is that I have no idea what happened *in any of it*. Leave us guessing for certain parts, sure. Don't leave us confused as to what the Hell we just watched - which the Devil's Chord was even worse at.

With respect, this seems like an incredibly arbitrary barrier for critique. Would it work the same way, say if a show had some stellar first few episodes at the start of a season, and let's say the following episodes in the season took a nosedive; should a content creator or person in general be discouraged in giving their initial thoughts? Personally I haven't watched X-Men '97, so I have nothing to comment on that, but whether you like it or not, people are going to have their opinions one way or the other.

@@GallifreyanAvenger93 Since RTD always starts with a cheesy comedy episode and slowly starts to get depressing and serious. It happened with Series 2 and Series 4, and this will be the same here.

@@friendlyotaku9525 I'm defo not a fan of these new storylines I am a very old fan of the original Dr Who shows and I watched them all with my 3 children who are all grown up now. 2 of my children are gay and even they say dad this is wrong it has spoilt Dr Who by putting all this woke stuff in. In fact they are annoyed about it more than me lol. As the target audience is families with young children I kinda stick by what I say there is no need for stupid pronoun correcting etc in a family show, let children be children and watch a good sci fi adventure with no grown up themes of any description weather straight, gay, trans, alien. They wanna see Dr who escaping the daleks not some musical trans person correcting someone on their pronouns and putting that into a kids TV program feels like grooming to me. I get you or others may not feel that way but a lot of people do and I respect your views but for me it still feels like Dr Groom

@markpotter8280 Doctor Who has ALWAYS been "woke". And pronouns were discussed in a 70s Jon Pertwee episode so even that isn't a new thing.
