As King Aegon was bedridden with his burns, Aemond One-Eye marched on Harrenhal and Prince Daeron was in the Riverlands it was time for Rhaenrya and her Blacks to make their move. Attacking Kings Landing itself while so much of the Green strength was away. Dameon Targaryen beloved of the smallfolk would make this tough task more simple, but even though the city fell with ease, ill omens would predict that Rhanerya would not hold the Iron Throne for long.
The Dance Of The Dragons will be the focus of the plot of the new HBO spin-off House Of The Dragon coming in 2022. So if you want to learn the story before we see HBO's take on it then this will be a very long-running series. Game Of Thrones / House of the dragon are HBO shows based on Geroge R R Martins A Song Of Ice And Fire series. The information in this video comes from the books a world of ice and fire as well as fire and blood.

Due to youtube being a bit random I had to edit out a small clip at about 3 minutes 11 seconds, so there is a small jump, nothing major, but noticeable, So apologies if you found it broke the flow of the video I try and aim for.

This kind of has me confused as to why Rhanerya isn't on the succession list of Targaryen monarchs. She literally stormed the city, took the throne, and forced the lords to bend the knee and Aegon fled... She was the ruler by right of conquest.

If she hadn’t turned against Lord Corlys, the riots and storming of the dragon pits wouldn’t have happened because he and his troops would have prevented it… and, they would’ve been able to defend King’s landing until The northmen and knights of the vale arrived.

Once she took the Iron Throne, she should have had Hugh and Ulf quietly killed, massive dragons like that are only a liability if youre not gonna marriage alliance them, send nettles and sheepstealer to hunt down sunfyre and send Daemon and Caraxes to kill Tessarion and burn the hightower army, Keeping Syrax, Seasmoke and her sons dragons safe in the City for when Aemond inevitably shows up on Vhgar

If Rhaenyra killed Hugh and Ulf it would make the other dragonseeds more weary of her and she wouldn't be able to recruit more riders for team Black's dragons. Plus, Vermithor was the Blacks' most valuable military asset and killing his rider would take him out of the war. The treachery of Hugh and Ulf was unfortunate but at that point they weren't showing any signs of it so it would've been unjust too. If Rhaenyra doubted their loyalty the best course of action would be to keep them close with her in King's Landing so their dragons could help hold the city. That would be the safest move and in hindsight, we can say it would've been the winning move. If not that then she could've split them up somehow. Perhaps send one with Daemon and Nettles and the other with Addam or one with Rhaenyra at King's Landing. That way if either tried to defect on mission they would have to deal with Caraxes and Sheepstealer or Seasmoke alone.

@@Jacaerys1 We've never seen a dragon rider ride another dragon after their own dragon died. We know Joffrey has Tyraxes and Rhaena eventually gets Morning. If those bonds happened it's possible that them bonding with any other dragon could not happen. The dragon chooses. If Rhaena could bond with Vermithor then she would have. She lives at Dragonstone and her father Daemon can approach Vermithor safely so she would've had the most opportunity. Also, why do you have to put down Tyraxes like that. 😭 If he survived then the Blacks would've been in good shape. Rhaenyra's hopes of staying on the throne died with the dragons in the dragon pit and neither the dragon seeds nor the Greens have any fault in that. All I'll say is that Rhaenyra on Syrax could've handled a bunch of peasants and it would've been 100% justified in every possible way. Peasants killing a bunch of dragons hurts Targaryen power and the Targaryen image of invincibility way too much. Some scenes in the show suggest that even Daemon cares more about the small folk than Rhaenyra and that is a very low bar. Given all of that, it's quite the mystery why Rhaenyra doesn't go save her family's power. Quite strange indeed. 😏 I mean, literally every other Targaryen dragon rider would've done it. 😏 Or better yet, she shouldn't have arrested Corlys so his men would be able to stop the storming of the dragon pit. I guess we're just gonna have to wait and see.🤔

@@user-ti5cw1ug6l seemed like Daemon was protecting his daughters from war, because he could have tried Rhaena with Silverwing m, Seasmoke, Vermithor, or sheepstealer. Now the show mentioned Viserys chose to not take another dragon. Hinting they can, but rarely does a rider out live their dragon anyway. Anyways yeah put down Tyraxes and get a real dragon. Tough titteee for Joffrey he can get over it when he has a newer model. I do wish Rhaenyra would have burned all the rioters to a crisp.

Other commenters are saying season 2 ends with Dameon be heading Otto when they take kings landing. The battle of the gullet and jaces death will be the start of season 3. They put it out of order from the books.

This seems to be the case. Rooks rest was episode four and if Jace dies around episode 7-8 this would definitely be the most natural endpoint to the season

@@s8theninjawarrior916 people had drones up when they were filming season 2 so a lot has been spoiled. It was supposed to be 10 episodes. Rooks rest at the midpoint and the Gullet at the end of Season 2 when Jace dies. Now they changed it to Rhaenyra and Darmon taking Kings Landing in episode 8. Dameon be heading Otto then. Season 3 starts with the Gullet. Rhaenyra gets word of Jaces death while she is in Kings Landing. They have changed so much from the books. Rhaena goes to the Vale and gets sheep stealer. She puts the boys on the boat to Pentos then she flies to Kings Landing to be with Dameon after they take the city. Jace is at Dragonstone when the news comes about the boys. He flies out w the dragon seeds and is killed there. Considering Aegon the younger was aged down in the Tv show, it’s doubtful he is going to fly off the ship to go back to dragonstone. It may be Joffrey that does that as he is about the age Aegon the younger is supposed to be now. That was vague because it will be filmed in season 3. Filming starts soon so there may be more info on that. We know Shokar has been cast because the actor announced it on the tv show. But it seems like she is introduced late in season 2.

While watching these videos, I noticed the same situation on the GOT last season where the north sided Daenyres and most of those in the South sided her was killed. And just like what happened to Rhaenyra's side, one by one sees a defeat.

I think some kind of war like this was inevitable at some point. The way marriage alliances played out during the reigns of Jaehaerys and Viserys created the network of alliances a civil war like this would need to happen. But ultimately although in the short term marrying Rhaenyra to Laenor solved one succession issue, it created another with Aegon, so the moment that marriage happened it was too late. Even if Rhaenyra married someone else, at some point the dominos would fall.

@Aaron Guest No, you're wrong.. the head of the house can name anyone he wants as heir or it goes to the oldest male child. Rhenera was named heir when the king assumed at the rule that he wouldn't have any more children.. he didn't want Damien as heir and most people didn't want Damien as heir, they were thinking he would be more like Meghor the Cruel, who was also unworthy to rule too.

It's a chair made of blades. You need to sit on it with good posture to not get cut. Many to sit on the throne get cuts accidently so what do you think will happen if you grip the damn thing with all your might? The Iron Throne has cut many "Rightful Heirs" before. If it does somehow magically judge the person sitting on it being the true king or queen is not a metric. The throne never cut Ned Stark for example.
