I LOVED THIS EPISODE! Tell tale Heart is one of my fave Poe works. I thoughts Rodricks overall story was it but was plesantly suprised they gave it its own dedicated episode. The twist of Al being dead the whole time was great imo bc I suspected it at first, but they misdirected it enough for the shock to still happen. Cant wait to watch the rest!

She was so creepy, but not in a "oh crazy" way, just a "the stress is driving you mad and you haven't slept in weeks" way Like she legitimately doesn't know what's happening, and not like she's just making arbitrary decisions

Don't know why but I felt kind of bad for Vic. She's not a good person clearly but her heart was initially in the right place. She tried to make something that could help people even though she's gone about it the wrong way. I definitely wanted more of Victorine being the first of the bastards. Especially with Madeline's stanky attitude.

@@MovieFilesLeo might have been Dealt drugs without needing the money, claimed to be a great creator despite just ducking around playing what his employees made, cheating on Jules casually, hating even the real pluto I mean he did have that moment of "I'm not doing this" in the 3rd bounty meeting when he realized that 2 siblings was enough of a pattern, but idk, I felt like he was still being shitty most of the time

@@QuikVidGuy this is just my theory, but I think it was supposed to be implied that the “bastards” had a little bit more humanity to them, more self-sufficiency, and work ethic, because they did not grow up with Roderick, and didn’t have access to the Usher wealth until they were already adults (or 16 in Perry’s case).

Vic had the potential to be great, I think. If she hadn't been poisoned by being a part of the Usher family, she might've been able to take her ideas and make them work by going at a slower pace. Instead, with all the pressure being put on her, and with that amoral family at her back and encouraging her pride, she cut corners and it ended in tragedy.

@@Hotelyorbano, the bastards were worse because they had to fight tooth and nail to feel “accepted”. Vic literally says she’s only making the heart implant to be famous, she’s only dating Ali because she’s a good surgeon, she’s torturing animals and lying about test results to push through a faulty medical product. She was arguably the worst Usher. Tammy and Froderick were just aloof (at least until froderick went crazy from his wife’s infidelity- after that, he became the worst)

Now knowing that there never was an informant if you go back and watch the first episode when Dupin does bring it up to the judge and how he tells him on sidebar that he should have known better and would happily strike it from the record you notice that he shoots a smile at Roderick and that is a tell and now knowing that it was a lie. We now know why he did this. Just little details that you find out and later episodes that you go back and watch earlier episodes you could be like "oh that was clever." Also when they keep going back to that brick wall and thr name Fortunato, i had a feeling feom the get go that someone got buried in behind that wall like in the story and i had my suspicious it was Rufus

I feel like the siblings-plus Juno represent the seven deadly sins. I noticed the colors that come up in scenes of each character. In the short story, The Mask of the Red Death, each sin has a room and an accompanying color. During Vic’s death the color red is dominant, because she is wrath. I think Tam is envy, because her house has green walls and death shows up in a green négligée as Candy. Am I the only one noticing this?

I think there's a case for the seven deadlies making an appearance, even though it's not canonical. Prospero is Lust, Leo could be Gluttony (or perhaps Sloth), Camille is Rage or Envy, Vic is Pride, Tam could be Envy or Pride, and I'll put down Fred as either Sloth or Rage. Roderick and Madeline are, of course, Greed.
