Filmed the same day as oiling video - • The Faller's Corner - ... - in the Spring of 2020.
Not much in the way of faux paus happening in this one, thanks to God.
Some follow up on the different styles of air filter design. I figured that most watching have already seen the filter base on the 044,046,066 and the "new & improved" HD2 element that was visible on the bench and shown in closeup in the afore tagged video.
I have put a pretty fair amount of time on the end of a pistol grip using the K&N type filter elements as well. Personally, I'm using the PJ-1 element oil there also.
At the time of your viewing this, I may, or may not, be immediately available for custom saw modifications. I am booked out several months regularly. If you are interested in having a saw zipped, please shoot me an email. That is the best, first point of contact.

Thanks for watching.
Hello. This session was originally set as an inclusion to -
• The Faller's Corner - ... - but it ended up being quite long. I "borrowed" the start & stop that we see repeated from the aforementioned video resultantly.
Thanks for watching.

Gentlemen hi. Good point. The tagged video in the description talks about using grease on a filter bottom. I've tried it on Husqvarna & Dolmar also. It is one more layer of additional gear when you are a busheler. I always tried to pare down the pack contents personally. The HD2 element won't last in severe dust for very long. I never liked having to stop after an hour to two to clean those in the field. In some less dusty conditions, I did try using two of the HD2 elements. That seemed to work pretty good. In moderate, heavy, and extreme dust conditions the oiled, high volume capabilities as seen in the Maxy is the only way to go for me. Thanks for watching.

Been dreaming of repurposing a old dishwasher..be so cool in the shop. So far gasoline for clean..BelRay for back to tackey.. Stihl been happy running H1R at 40:1..no goop or carbon to speak of..clean screen..glad I gleaned that tidbit from you some time back. Thanks..just got my nosebleed stopped truing up my simington..crazy how many tweaks and changes it took to get it eating right and left the same.. Got the top plate angles perfect..and the length average .004 or so. So nice to toss a chain on get the corner and just go..the arm actually was twisting when you tighten the knob for up\down adjustment..and I chased that for quite some time..casting tolerance stack up..needed some washers to get the left right angles to match..what a nice deal to finally be grinding without struggles now. Got a good work grind setup now..Anyhow hope your doin well..lots of cold and snow frozen wood here in Michigan..

I use Dawn dish soap to clean my filter…seems to work well. I’ll give the filter cleaner a try though.

Nathan hi. I used mild hand soap early on - Irish Spring and the like. Took more time as the PJ-1 "cleaner" is far superior to cutting the oil while at the same time not damaging the element(s). Dawn says it's biodegradable on the label last time I looked. I had used it in the cleaning process after the hand soap & before the purpose based "cleaner". I would agree that that works fairly well with no damage to the element. The actual cleaner works superbly imho. Thanks for watching.

Have you tried the Egan filter?. I was thinking about that one because it allows you too keep your OEM cover.
@hotsaws101
@hotsaws101 Год назад
Nope. The cage design is a knockoff (read plagiarism) of the cage used in the Hole-Shot (read Max-Flow) system. The filter elements are more than suspiciously close to the Max-Flow design as well. I'll stick with the original thank you. Thanks for watching.

@@hotsaws101 I never knew that. Anyway I will try and get the max flo, because I would rather not encourage that kind of affair. I do not like the air filter on my ms661 and would rather something that would protect my saw.Thank you for the heads up.

@@hotsaws101 Check out the future model, it looks exact now... you were not kidding. Anyway I am happy I ordered the Max-Flo.

where can i purchase a tach like you are using for my 461 stihl ?

Milton hi. For the older saws I like the Pulse pet2100dxr. Not sure if they are still available. Web search. The Husky shops use to have a variation of the Pulse tach that also interfaced well with the old coils. I'm not impressed the new pet- 302 R. It seems to work on the older saws bit won't read the ignition in the prototype 592xp that I have. All the Pulse tacks are Oppama. Japanese. Thanks for watching.
