Thanks for sharing this longplay! I have the Gold Cartridge, and was always curious how the Aladdin Cart played knowing there were two versions. The layout certainly looks different, the items are in different locations, and Dizzy can walk faster. I'm actually jealous of the latter, because it looks easier to evade the spiders... until I see the spiders move faster too! Also, in the Gold Cartridge, the Stars temporarily disable the enemies.
Thanks for the feedback! To me, the higher walking speed and improved inventory management are the most crucial improvements in this release. Blue version is unbearably slow by comparison... I must admit I've never actually beat it, and that's the reason.
@@gryzorr I was able to beat the Gold Cart/Blue version few times, but it is no easy feat. I guess having the Stars temporaily block enemies balances out in my version. I keep coming back to this game from time to time only to find more ways to be effecient like taking the Umbrella everywhere I go, since I didn't know until about a decade ago that it negates damage from the acid drops. The Aladdin/Red version also has some exclusive items that make it easier such as the Wrench for the Diamond Mine, the Water Bucket to cut a shortcut in Zaks' castle, and from looking at your playthrough being able to return to the Diamond Mine from the Mine Cart exits. I also noticed the level design in the Aladdin/Red version is also the same for the Genesis port. Once again, great video!
