As shared in the video, tune into The Farm Must Go On: by John Deere benefit concert for Farm Rescue on December 9 at 8 p.m. ET. John Deere, in partnership with Farm Rescue, is
putting on this benefit concert to celebrate all that farmers do for our country and to help keep them working through this difficult time. #ad #JohnDeere #FarmRescue #TheFarmMustGoOn
- The concert will be streamed on RU-vid, and all proceeds from the event will go directly to Farm Rescue to support farmers, those who can never push pause.
- For more information or to donate to help make an impact, visit bit.ly/3nYoeu1.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to
children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his
message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach
has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while
providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

In 1985 my dad was caught in a PTO when he was unloading silage out of a ratchet wagon. I was 5 at the time. Dad spent almost a 1 1/2 months in the hospital he was pretty bad. It was amazing the the out pouring of help that we got. Dad had a farrow hogs as well as a BUNCH of feeder pig. Also had harvest to finish. The neighbors helped as well as a lot of the community. I helps as much as a 5 year old could by cleaning crates scraping platforms for feeders. We were blessed. Then in 1994 dad got struck by lightning. By this time I was 14 I took on pretty much the operation or tried neighbors still helped. I and Dad still going running when any neighbors need anything we feel owe it to them for ALL that they have done to help us.

When I was about 13 a neighbor was bailing straw and the tractor sprayed gasoline on him and cough fire. He was in the burn unit for a month and couldn't do much for several month. When potato and sugar beet harvest time came the entire valley stopped working their own farms and for two days everyone moved into his fields and harvested his crops. The church he attended organized crews to do the hand labor and the ladies made food for both days. I spent most of the time in the back of potato trucks unloading them. The local gasoline supplier came out with a truck and fueled the equipment. I felt proud to be a farm kid and to belong to a community that looked out for their own! Now I am old and can't help out like that I still have the memories of the experiences that shaped me into the man I am today.

In Australia this is less wlikely to happen that l am aware of. There is always a lot to do as our ground never gets as cold and frozen as yours. We normally don't get the snow you guys do . This means we can be planting harvesting or working up at any time.. augers, and field bins, chainsaws and ATVs seem to be the things that cause injuries and more on farms . We don't have a farm rescue organisation as you do it is usually the local fire brigade and volunteer rescue guys who do this.

Those of us that farm are the only ones other than truckers WE NEVER STOPPED during this covid crap. Without farmers everyone would STARVE TO DEATH, and thanks to the truckers for without them our food would never get delivered, and thanks to the SOLDIERS who keep us FREE to do what we do. And above ALL THANK GOD FOR ALL OF IT.

I was raised on a farm as a young teen 5th generation in michigan. When I saw what my grandparents and father were going through all the trials, worries and heartache, man it was hard. Almost suicidal. We lost are farm a litttle over 5000 acres plus are home basicly everything in the 70s when are great president Carter was in office. It really messed me up. I really thank you and all the other farmers out there having the balls and courage to keep it up and feed us. I will help anyway that I can. Thank you and all farmers again and GOD BLESS.

THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT IN THIS WORLD THAN FOOD. We all need to eat. It gives us strength and energy to live. It is an essential element in this pandemic on Covid 19. The farmers crops are unpredictable because of weather, insects, and fluctuations in prices. They just do it because they love it. Heroes of out time. Thank you to all of them.

My family farmed in Wilkin county just outside of Barnesville. My father was brought home from Vietnam on hardship leave when my Grandfather broke his leg right before harvest. He was sent back to Vietnam once harvest was in. Can you imagine?! I think back and wish something like this could have been available for my grandpa and dad. We were always taught to pay it forward. I am grateful for these programs now that help farmers when they need a hand.

In May, 1975 my dad had to have an 8hr back surgery, I left school and quit my job to go home to do his farming so he would have a crop to sell. One day in late June 17 tractors with cultivators showed to help me get the cotton plowed. The local fuel supply showed up with a fuel truck to make sure everyone had fuel all day. Many people came in with food and drink. In the fall they came back to harvest the crop. I can not tell you how proud I was and still am of all those people. I have been trying to pay it forward ever sense. Hats off to the farming community of west texas. Zack, praise on for doing what you do. 👆👆

This reminds me of the great Australian spirit of always help you mates no matter what. A perfect example is the bushfires at the end of last year and the start of this year where random people just came out with garden hoses trying to do everything they can and in floods people get in the boat drive around the flooded streets and help rescue people.

I marvel at you farming in the snow and its hard to imagine, coming froma tropical but dry area. the amount of water you have is amazing. We hang out for every drop. The main thing about tropical farming is you are always sweating and trying to avoid the sun.

This season our combine burnt down during corn harvest. Where I farm we harvest corn then beans. My father called one of his close friends, also a farmer, and he came out right away and started shelling our corn. Once the word spread, many people were calling us ready to help, and they did. Even though our combine burnt down, this year has been of the easiest harvests. This just goes to show how much help there is in these farm communities.

I’m sure there are plenty of people who will think my comment is untrue but I’ll say it anyway, Farmers might be the very last truly genuine people left on this rock that will go out of their way to help another and not ask what’s in it for me?? Before everyone gets crazy I have the absolute highest respect for the volunteer first responders n the military. Still I have to say that Zachs statistic of farmers only making up 1% puts fear in me because in my opinion once they are gone then the last true Americans will be too.

My family was always dairy farmers in rural northeastern Pennsyltucky. My Uncle was an early innovator and the first in our area to own a round baler. It was a Saturday, early summer, 1978 or 1979, over 35 acres of top quality alfalfa/clover mix down and ready to bale, rain coming on Monday. He collapsed while doing the evening milking and had to have emergency surgery. Nobody knew how to run his round baler, hell, he barely knew, it was such a novelty at the time. I remember the entire community coming together with square balers, wagons, and family. There were 3 or 4 balers, 2 or 3 haulers, and 10-15 people in the hay mow trading off and putting up over 3,000 square bales in one Sunday afternoon, milking his cows and keeping things going til he recovered. I was just a young pup at the time, but, the feeling of community and giving back has never left.

My family actually came here to Manitoba in 1821 but unfortunately lost the family farm during the dirty thirties. Here in southern Manitoba a man took very sick last fall (2019, not covid) and usually it would take him a week to combine his fields. There were so many volunteers to help out the Mrs. (who was over her head with worry about the Mr. and the farm) they combined his fields in a day and still had time to put on the fall supper. Good luck and God Bless Joe Scott

In the year before COVID, they raised a tad over $12,000.00 for a family whose father/grandfather had suffered through an accident which eventually took his life after a long hospital stay, three local FFA Chapters, and Suicide Awareness. All just doing small shows around our community and surrounding communities. I hope that they always have that heart to help. And I hope that they continue to grow in a way that they can help more by taking part in larger projects, like this one, someday. Thanks for letting us know about this show and this cause.

Yep I remember way back in about 1965 our neighbors got really behind in the spring doing their tillage and my father took his old D 2 cat and a 4 x plow and help them get ready for planting back then it was all about helping not like it was 30 years later when everyone was cut throat and taking rented land away from you that's why I'm a retired driver and not a retired farmer and it was some of the same farmers that my dad helped that put me under So keep it between the rows I'm 70 and still love the lifestyle got me 25 acres and a compact tractor jd 4200 with some attachments along with my Chevy pick up truck I'm happy I Watch some RU-vid farmers and that fulfills my dream

Always great to watch your videos. Sadly we had to shutdown our dairy farm on April this year due to the overwhelming financial burdens. It's always a joy to watch your family and these videos. Thanks

With my 800 non productive acres in arctic Scandinavia, no wonder so many of my great great grand family left for the flat productive acreage in Minnesota, SD, ND and rich fishing out west WA.cold winters, warmer summers, no 8 ft snow and even winter tilling. Kudos for your efforts !
