I've worked in construction my entire life so this stuff is right up my alley. Heavy equipment fascinates me. Nice to get a look see and find a little bit out about the 'tools of the trade' in the farming industry, so to speak. Especially, in light of the fact that what you work and toil at touches us all in some way. I have nothing but admiration and respect for the farming community. Great channel.

One way I keep mice out of my combine is to sprinkle cloves in the cab and anywhere there is wires or anything else they like to chew on. I think it would also work in your shed. Mothballs work too, but they need replacing every couple of weeks. I put cloves in my old combine, a 1978 Gleaner L2, last year, and it still smells slightly like cloves now that I am done harvesting this year. I love watching your stuff, you are such a pleasure to be around. Keep up the good work!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen any barn cats in any of your vids? …..a few ‘mousers” will make a difference! Only feed them in the morning so they are hungry during nocturnal hunting hours.
@robertbradford3461
@robertbradford3461 Год назад
Seriously we never ever fed our barn cats, not once was food put down for them, they are feral cats, almost completely wild, the only attention they ever got was if we noticed one sick then to the vet after capture, also if you feed your cats in the morning why would they mess up their supper by hunting mice at night
@leatherwoodjay
@leatherwoodjay Год назад
@@robertbradford3461 haha...agreed! On a large farm there is probably plenty to dine on. We had barn cats on 4 acres in a suburban city so the buffet was not so plentiful. Also had a bunch of bleeding hearts who would put food down if I did not. Generally though, if they were hungry at night we didn't have a mouse problem. It was a horse barn so there was always plenty of food for the mice to be attracted to.
@jeramy2398
@jeramy2398 Год назад
A hungry cat only hunts to eat a fed cat hunts for fun. Fed cats kill more mice. I spend less on cat food than did on mouse poison and haven't seen a mouse in barn or buildings in years

@robertbradford3461 Год назад
@@jeramy2398 you kinda said it there, where do the dead mice go, if the cats don't eat them and they won't eat them unless they are hungry, so you go around and pick them up or does it attract other critters to eat them, might as well get traps

I would love to see a video on seed corn and bean processing including the explanation of why seed corn can't be combined with conventional combine versus shipping ears off to stationary plant to be processed. Love to see the how the seed plant removes the kernels and separates out from the cob, leaves etc.. The one video of a soybean seed processing plant didn't show the actual inside of the cleaners, sizers, vision systems, coaters etc.. You could show us the inside of the black box seed processing plants we all drive by but are not allowed to understand.

I was looking up some of my ancestors the other day and found some info that was new to me. My great-great-grandmother's maiden name was Nelson. She lived somewhere in North Dakota. This suggests to me that your husband, kids and grandkids could be some kind of 4th or 5th cousins of mine. I once introduced myself to the owner of a grocery in a small town in Eastern Oregon, who my Mom had told me was her 2nd cousin. When we met, I told him I was sure I was his 2nd cousin, once removed. With barely a pause, he responded "What do you want? A free Coke?" I didn't get a free Coke, but he did introduce me to a bunch more of my grandpa's cousins.

Laura rain comes as a result of Saints prayers. I talked to Ranchers this summer complaining about the drought. I recommended the prayer of faith. We ended up praying a prayer of agreement for it to rain 10 inches over thirty days. Well rain. Came and it's green again and the grass is growing. We weren't the only ones praying I know. Many people were and are praying. God answers prayers especially the prayers of His saints. Prayer is always the answer to so many problems in life. God bless . Toss the hog poo out of their pens and they do not smell.

The good thing about hogs is the manure grows grass very well. The hog farms have since left the country here.
