yeah in the winter you want need AC and such, can't really run the washer or dryer but who does work in a power outage. I grew up in northern Wisconsin and do not miss the snow and cold. Here in Vegas we have a saying when we are suffering 112 degree summers…at least you don’t have to shovel the heat!

Where I live in Pa an hour east of Pittsburgh, last week on Friday, it was 0 degree’s, but with the 25-30 mph gusts, it was more like 20 to 30, I’m so thankful I had well insulated hunting jacket

If you still have the King Ranch Ford diesel, consider putting a good plow on it. A plow truck is a good thing to have. You stay warm and dry.

If you were to tell people 20-30yrs ago in the future we will be sitting around watching other people do chores, cooking, eating and talking about weather they would most likely say damn the future sounds lame! Maybe their right but somehow it’s enjoyable.

You talk about the weather so much you could be a Brit. It's our favourite topic of smalltalk. Which is odd as it's hardly ever very dramatic. The only guarantee is that it is exactly the opposite of what we want at any given time.

I know this footage is from the last storm but the one we got down here in the cities yesterday plus the cold temps and the winds we are getting tonight have been brutal.

I'm glad you are set up for power for the furnace and well, and the other necessities. I don't know if your plans include a transfer switch and generator that would cut over automatically when the power goes out. It might be worth thinking about. I have a dear friend who moved to Texas a couple of years ago, and the house he bought was already wired with the transfer switch, all he had to do was basically plug in his own generator. Linda and I are going to be buying our retirement place next year, and I'm starting my research on generator systems. I may not be able to afford it, but I sure like the idea of having things set up to automatically switch over, it's just one less thing to worry about. So glad you and Melissa and all the critters are so well prepared and that you're safe and cozy even in the snow. All the best to you from our little family here.

Joe you need a plow on your truck ! It will cut your plow time in half plus you won’t have to mess with a 4 wheeler and you’ll be in the comfort of a heated truck not freezing your butt off ! No need to be dilydaging around when the truck will do it all !!!!! Merry Christmas

I'm still digging out. My poor international 300 utility with loader is struggling. The backhoe on the back does help for weight on the rear tires, but it sucks bad with 12 inches of wet snow that froze after a couple days.

Good luck 👍 Best thing we ever did for our house was to install a propane powered 22kw backup generator with an automatic transfer switch. Now when hurricanes come we’re okay.

No need to go out when you have a wood stove and a grill.

Have you every looked into a set of non-resistor spark plugs for your M? They work alot better in older tractors.

In South Africa there is only one power supply company and they cannot supply everyone the whole day every day so we have a load shedding shedule of when your area will be off. Its realy tiring to be always planning your day ahead and think up new back up alternatives

Been a tough winter so far and this is only the beginning! Already tired of shoveling, and of course can’t get my snowblower started. I’m 73 and shoveling is tough.

Joe we have been under warnings since Monday and it's Friday now but still in a Blizzard warning till Saturday night since Tuesday afternoon. There telling everyone to stay home and many roads are blocked due the 50 plus mph winds I can only see 2 blocks in town and the temperature is below 0 Merry Christmas

I dont know what the complainers are complaining about. I live 35 miles north of Spokane and we have had snow on the ground since the first week November. Three feet now on the ground and the snow banks on my road are 7 feet high. It was -14 F last night with a wind chill of -35 F. My frost free hydrants to water my horses were frozen this morning. Had to thaw them with a weed burner. How is that for a weather report.? Joe, tell the complainers to go pound sand. Country boys will survive.

Hey Joe why don’t you just get another set of plugs for the tractor that away you will have a clean set to exchange and then you can clean the ones you pulled and have them ready for the next time. Looks like that would be a little faster plus you could keep your gloves on to do that.
