History of Japan Ancient Jomon and Yayoi People Who doesn’t enjoy history? Welcome to Japan. Let's talk about ancient Yayoi and Jomon people. This location is Santonodai in Isogo Ward of Yokohama, Japan My Outdoor Life with Rock Eastwood
I used to live right by Sankei-en right on the bluff early 70s~80s as a kid. This old man had a small "zoo" (or large "cage") with some animals like deer, pheasant, etc on his yard outside his house. I used to go there like local zoo to watch the animals, and the man told me he caught those animals right here in the mountains. When my grandma visited once, she was surprised this mountain bluff was full of wild "food" and I remember red "shiso" leaves used to grow in the ground like weed in the yard of the apartment facing the slope. Also, there were chestnut trees, fruit bearing cherry trees, ginko trees, etc. That mountain was full of FOOD. I can imagine in jomon times people were able to comfortably live off hunting/gathering in a settlement village 😍👌
That’s awesome! Thank you for the information. I love Sankei-en neighborhood. Since there is no train station not so many people visit. I agree Jomon and Yayoi simple life sounds good and I love Ainu culture also! どうもありがとうございます 🙏
Great insights and perspective! This bridges a gap for me. They really were advancing. much more modern than tribes even within the past few hundred years.
I’d like to learn much more. It’s hard to find a lot of Jomon & Yayoi information in English out there. I did the best I could. Soon, I’ll travel to southern Japan where supposedly large villages existed. I hope to visit! Thank you kindly for watching.
This is right up my alley! Primitive, hunter, gathering, nomadic history right before our eyes! That would be soooo cool to stay in there a night. Very happy you introduced us to these people. Thanks Rocky!
👏🏼👍🤗awesome documents my friend. I always learn so much from your videos they are so entertaining and informative educational thank you for giving us a tour. I look forward to them thank you for sharing have a good day. I forgot to mention if that’s your voice at the beginning doing the video it’s wonderful you were made for storytelling. 🖐
In your intro, the round shield and a couple of large or medium sized bells, look very, very, Chinese. I know ancient Chinese history pretty well (still a lot more to know though) and could easily recognise those two items. That type of shield looking item especially, was unique to ancient Chinese history. Used as a mirror actually.
Well I really enjoyed the beginning of this video. It was interesting to get a history lesson to begin a great video. Well done as always thanks for taking me along for the journey.
I like this video so i downloaded it 4 study material later. Great video Rocky. In the beginning i thought i was watching National Geographic Channel, it's was very informative and very impressive,Thanx 4 Sharing your knowledge, you've made me a little bit smarter now. for i have seen and learned how the old pokemon hunter and gatherer lived. Domo Arigatogozaimashita Rocky San.
Loved the trip man, thanks. Watching ur video's from over there, allows me to see the side of Japan that I always wanted to travel and see. Thank you brother for taking the time and effort to take us on these great adventures, and teaching us some history along the way. Stay safe and good adventures man!
That was cool It's funny how wherever on the globe you find primitive shelters, they are exactly the same minus the material used. Great video 👍 and be confident in your yourself and presentation ☺ You're doing good
Great video Rock! Love your intro to this. You had me at antler gatherer, lol! Those structures are awesome. I thought they had rightous toilets in there, but being a stove makes more sense. Great history lesson and video.
Very cool history indeed, Great history lesson man and I am amazed how well the structures were built , Being close to water was important for fish and trading I would imagine. Seems strange how the island has gotten bigger and our peninsula here has gotten smaller. Great job researching the history and anymore would have been boring I think so well done my friend !
Sweet video! Really helpful & valuable. Amazing to see the museum displays, def get in the habit of videoing slowly over that kind of display, so we can actually see and [potentially read it]. Don't under value ur contributions my friend because most of us would never have the splendid opportunity to see this all in person!
another great video my friend, the history part of the video was very well made, now i didn't know much about the topic before, but i can say for a fact that it was enough information there
@@rockeastwood To clear the air Native Americans are Asians. Their related to the Huns and Mongolians. So doing my Ancestry lead me to these people. Science and History go hand in hand.
Very interesting! The craftsmanship of the tools is impressive and the structures look quite sturdy. That figure depicted at 1:29 seems to be wearing a space suit. Did you read anything about extraterrestrial visitors sharing metallurgy or other technology with the Jomon people? Nice job Rocky.
Nice mix of history and walk around the old pit houses, although I hope that was not the toilet in the middle of the house lol. A life expectancy of only 30 years was unbelievable, considering the abundance for fresh food and meat they had there. Cheers Alan
I missed this one Rockey. I like history too but especially stone age history, nice video. Looks like the crafty devils have been copying shelters from vinniesdayoff 😡 😡 (er, maybe I have been copying them 😈)
Theirs something really hilarious about seeing a video dedicated to Japanese history use artwork depicting the Xia dynasty of China to depict the Jomon peoples.
