I used to think he was not handsome at all when I grew up watching the show. But I found out it was only because of one thing. Because I saw him without his moustache afterwards, and I was like "damn, that's a beautiful man". Insane how a moustache can flip it so fast!

This is the worst travesty on television! I gave it 5 minutes (until the theme) and then threw my shoe at the television, turning the channel in the process.
I LOVE my TOMTOM and would do anything to meet him. I met his cousin in Birmingham and by mistake I mentioned that he looked like Tom. He said that he was tired of everyone talking about Tom. He was tired of people acting like he himself was no-one. I apologized and try to share the story so others don't hurt his feelings also. Tom I love you!!
You missed the lavender/blue/gray rayon button down short sleeve with palm trees on the sleeves and front buttons and Wakiki and Diamond Head over his heart. Also had small sailboats. It made 23 appearances starting in Season 6. Usually worn by itself, but a couple of times under a blue jacket.
My older brother looked identical to Tom (similar physique too) and the ‘80’s ladies definitely noticed. I unfortunately , did not look like my brother.
@Evan Walker Does anyone remember that when the occasion called for it....Magnum would be dressed in a suit.....or dressy attire.....he always looked GREAT.....but did not wear socks? I shared with my hubby that I thought that was a hot look!!! And of course I shared that my hubby....who had/has an amazing MUSTACHE and ADORABLE DIMPLES.....and looked great in his 80's SHORTS.....and he looked AMAZING playing beach volleyball....🏐....shirtless.....however he did not share height similarities as Magnum.....should go for that look.....dressy but no socks!! He didn't think so!!! TRUE STORY.....we were going to an out of state wedding and all the fun festivities that go with!! To save time, I packed our suitcases and as soon as my husband got home from work.....we headed out for our fun filled weekend!!! Really excited about seeing all our family and friends and having a great celebration with our family!!!! Day of wedding.....I'm getting all glammed up.....my husband is getting ready and he comes into the dressing room of our suite......and asked where his socks were for the wedding!!!!! Well 🤔....🙄...back home in his sock drawer of course!!!! I couldn't stop laughing.....I actually forgot (?) to pack socks for him!!!! TRULY NOT ON PURPOSE.....but still.....quite humorous.....so I thought....hubby thought I did it on purpose!!!! NOT!!!! Went to wedding and FANTASTIC reception....hubby without socks!!!! HE GOT A GREAT DEAL OF COMPLIMENTS..... FROM.....MOSTLY WOMEN!!! SOCKLESS made him even more sexy.....if that was possible!!! LOL!!! 46 years later we still have fun with that special "sockless" celebration weekend!!! FYI.....he always makes sure he has socks packed to this day!!!! LOL!!! THANKS TOM SELLECK!!!!! ❤

I remember going to weddings in 80’s with my brother and he would get so much attention and comments from ladies about being Tom Selleck’s doppelgänger especially his physique , perfect curly hair and mustache. I had the height 6’2” and similar hair but socks or no socks didn’t help compete with my brother. We laugh about those days now. But even now in his sixties, my brother still has the full head of curly locks and stash. I hate him!

I only watched the "Nuns don't work on a Sunday" clip and now RU-vid is recommending Magnum P.I. content. I guess I've got a new rabbit hole to go down.
Short lengths have been coming up in the last few years. At least in hotter nations like Australia you don't see anyone wearing shorts that go beyond the knee.
the new Magnum PI lacks this style, plus the new person who is playing Thomas Magnum looks like the guy who delivers your Amazon packages. Thomas Magnum has to be a big tall guy with great looks who is not vain and is just an ordinary fellow who makes mistakes and fesses up to them.
Not an unusual looking man, at least not unusual for the eighties. I used to try to look like him, and I did not think it was very hard. We have height in common. Actually, I'm a little taller.
