In this vlog, I have shared my ETC automatic toll collection experience on Pune Bangalore highway's Khed Shivapur Toll plaza near Pune.
Fastag is an Electronic toll collection system which is designed to save time at toll plazas and help avoid long queues. Well that sounds incredible. But this reality check of Fastag tells us the practical challenges and flows in the real implementation. And at the same time I got a chance to look at how state transport buses are driven here.
Some Improvement needed in fastag implementation-
1. Start following dedicated lanes
2. Penalize non-tag entrants in Fastag lane
3. Place multiple clear indicators locating ETC lanes well before the toll gates

at 3.10 you can clearly see that the fastag board has been put over the bus/truck lane. Hence, they were forming the queue in the correct lane and its just the authorities who were dumb enough to do this....tat bus driver was a jerk though....

Khed Shivapur toll plaza one of the chor company on Pune Banglore highway. Ye sabse bade chor hai. Sabse gandhe road inke section me hai aur toll sabse jyada hai.

Question is how do we stop this? Times I am left frustrated with this "jump the queue" attitude. Seriously this needs to be fixed. I feel that toll chap should have refused him entry. I hope after your video, relevant authorities will take some action!

Maybe the bus thing was just a misunderstanding, as there is only one fastag lane. Maybe the driver got into the wrong line by mistake or something like that. I am just saying that this might be a possibility. It's not good to criticize in such an intense way because of this.

3 buses did this before in the same lane this bus and they do drive on this road on daily basis. It's a regular practice for them.

I also completely agree with you. Its really frustrating standing in long queues. By the way when can we see the next Pune Metro Blog for the Vanaz Civil Court Corridor???

@@deveshshah9148 The Fastag issue only happens in Khed-Shivapur toll plaza, there are a lot of vehicles without Fastag in the Fastag lane

Nice work. I agree with you very much Fastag should be improved, there should be more Fastag lanes (if possible). Also vehicles like the bus that drive rashly should be heavily penalised.
