What was the final tq on this, looks like close to 200ft lbs? My 2002 Grand Am OEM nut #1 is 284, the newer style is 173. Me needs a torque wrench. Excellent tip to stop the rotor from spinning!
Help me Audi 4 i put the axle on and moved my car just a little in my driveway and axle flange came out. I didn't put a new cir clip on the differential axle idk i do have it lowered and got a alignment and ever since then it flange popped out twice. Can you help me out on some pointers?
I would get a new clip for the trans side of the axle or you may try spreading the one you have. Although it is possible, lowering the car should not cause that problem. While you have it out to replace the clip check the stub and of the axle for any wear or defects, and replace the axle if you find any.
At least you didn't use an impact gun... Still you had to have suspension preloaded or wheels on the ground before torquing the nut it's important for the bearing when you work on your own car.
100% impossible to fully torque that axle nut down to spec.Cannot do damage to the wheelbearing tightening the axle nut down with an impact. The wheelbearing manufacturers are full of BS saying damage can be done which is a 100% lie
Call a couple ugga duggas with an impact and done.100% impossible to fully torque that axle nut down.Cannot do damage tightening the axle nut with an impact
