I'm glad you like it. Their cage for Sony A7C is painful to work with. It is impossible to connect a speed light or flash trigger to the hotshoe due to a terrible design flaw of the cage. I sincerely regret buying it, imagine having to remove the camera from the cage whenever a speed light is needed.
Your content is dope. Hope you won't get discouraged by your views. It looks like you deserve just as much attention like the peters and Mattis out there!
Hey Phil. Thanks so much my friend! 🤩🙏🏻 I’ll never get discouraged. Not with people like you supporting like this. It means the world 🙏🏻🎥 thanks for watching
Love the look of these - will be ordering them if they come out with an R3 model and then I can get the R6 one as well to interchange them - cracking video again buddy
Nice one man. Great idea. I love the quick release plate underneath. That’s a great idea. What I’ve always wanted. Thanks bro 🤩🙏🏻 I need to catch up on your mini jokes. It’s been so busy 🎥
Hi Sam only seeing this video now. Thanks for your work and adding to the conversations around which cage does what for the Sony FX3 / FX30. The key feature and benefits. I wasn’t aware of this brand when I did our video with all the other brands. Good to see this. My names Niall. Have a great day.
I can't tell you how much i understand the whole cat thing.... i've had to discard a few videos cuz i didn't get all the cat hair off my shirt and it was so distracting to me haha
Never seen a cage set up for vertical shots that was pretty cool! Also totally agree with the being able to twist the handles for lower shots. I wonder the capacity of the cage, like if you can add a matte box?
Yeh man deffo in need of rotating side handles RSH 😂 Yeh man you could mount rails underneath but you could get one of these matte boxes that mount to your lens ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xctCMZl6gFo.html Thanks for watching bro 🙏🏻🤩🎥
Great video! I bought the SmallRig cage for my R7, but likely would have bought this one if I had known about it. The flaw in the SmallRig is that the lens release button is hard to push due to cage being too far forward near button. It looks like the Falcam might be okay on that issue. Can you confirm? I’m using the Falcam quick release system on the Smallrig cage, my tripod, and DJI RSC2 gimbal. It’s a great system. Very quick, and secure.
thanks for the video Sam! If you have this cage - could you still attach "traditional" handles (top and side) to this cage? Wondering, because I really like the idea to have F38 plate combined with the cage, but I already have "traditional" handles I was planning to use for a while. Thank you!
What rail system solution would you recommend for running a follow focus on the left side? My preference is to have a handle on the right and pull focus with my left.
Hi David. I have the smallrig follow focus and you can mount it on either side which is cool. It comes with its own rail but you can get the larger smallrig rails and mount it using that if you like. Hope this helps 🎥🤩
Good job on the video as usual. I would be interested in knowing your thoughts on a cage that could work with the Ronin S or SC or similar without having to step up to that massive Ronin cage. Is that even something that is possible?
Thanks Travis! 🙏🏻 yeh if you check the weight payload of the S or whatever gimbal you use, you should be able to mount it in the cage. The only thing to think about is the accessories. Your side handles and top handle may have to come off but it’s better than nothing I guess. Hope this helps 🤩🙏🏻🎥
Thanks. Can the R5 cage fit in an Arca Swiss plate on the portrait edge? If not, is there an accessory from Falcam designed for this purpose? Many thanks, Stefano
Great video Sam! I haven't bought a cage system yet. I really like the options of having rotating side handles and an adjustable top handle. Would you recommend Smallrig over Falcam for those features? Or perhaps another brand? I don't want to invest in a system and hope that they may add these options someday.
Hey Chris. To be fair they’re all good quality the only thing to notice is that some of them have different features and slightly different shapes. I tend to stick to smallrig where possible because it’s all compatible. Hope this helps 🤩🎥
@@SamHolland Thanks, I've been leaning towards Smallrig. Do you know if all their top handles are adjustable or only certain models? Which top/side handle models do you prefer?
Hi. Some of the top handles can be adjusted like the one in this video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zjX5NmJohdE.html That’s why I chose it. All the links are in the description 🙏🏻🎥
Honestly, it all comes down to your shooting style and what feels best. I have changed so many times 😂 but it comes with time I guess. Start with one and see how you get on 👌🏻🤩🎥
i dont do video so this is a photopgraphy question. I have a promediagear flash bracket. Would it make any sense make the switch to attach a flash to a magic arm f22. I would have to buy the cage since thats what falcam has with canon. the benefit would be that most of the time you can go easily between portrait and landscape mode on a tripod and i just have to carry around a magic arm for events... although I have never seen anyone use magic arm for flash vs a L bracket. the youtubers seem to all use this setup for video so is it just weird or impractical?
Hi Sam! Great video, I love your channel. I’d like to buy a falcam cage for my A7iii but I saw from their website that the cage for my Sony has not a pin as second point of contact. Do you think is a dealbreaker ? Thanks
Hey Sam, if you could help me out with this question that would be huge!! I’m thinking of investing in this system but I need to know something about the monitor mount that you put at the end of your top handle: is it possible to tighten the tilt axis to the amount that the monitor stays in place but you can still tilt it with one hand without it getting loose again after tilting it a few times? I have a smallrig mount and whenever I tilt it 4-5 times from switching between filming high and low, the tilt axis gets loose and the monitor just drops, which needs an Allen key to tighten it again.. is this better? THANK YOU!!!
Hey Sam. I finally got the Falcam cage for my Sony A7iv. I love the quick release setup, but I was surprised that when I locked it into an f38 bracket it would wiggle slightly from side to side. I was expecting a tight fit that stayed put, similar to an arca swiss plate. Can you (or anyone else reading this) please confirm with your cage if this this normal? Or do you think I may have received a dud cage or bracket? My concern is that when I compose a shot then have to make adjustments on the camera, my framing could change slightly. Thanks!
Hi Mark. Yes I am. Using it more than ever at the moment and love it. Plenty more videos to come from that little beast! Any questions, let me know 🤩🎥🙏🏻
