This Coal Mining City That Was Glory In The Soviet Era Is Located At Longitude 67° The Northernmost Part Of Russia, Behind The Arctic Circle, This City Is Also One Of The Dying Cities In Russia, Only 4 Mines Are Still Working Out Of 13 Major Mines That Are Was In Vorkuta Currently.
Lack of job prospects in a once prosperous area has driven thousands to leave and continues to this day.
According to official data, in the last 30 years the working population has decreased, from 117,000 in 1991, to less than 52,000 today, making Vorkuta the fastest dying city in Russia.
