Correction regards to McDonald Bailey. He was not produced by Britain but by Trinidad. Just before the 1952 Olympics McDonald Bailey had a fall out with the T&T Athletics Federation and decided to represent Britain instead. McDonald Bailey returned to Trinidad for the better weather and to be closer to his family in his older years and died there a few years ago.
Not enough is said about Lindy, he was so humble. When I was 20 I asked him if I could work out with his high school runners, after 3 days his assit coach told me he was a 2 time Olympic champ. I couldnt believe it. Only BS is said about him, even his sprinters said he came in 2nd. Look at the picture at 3.59 and then got to a mirror and say he lost. Dont lie to yourself. Also 4.04.
Its funny how people here saying he did not win, so they are going by this 1952 vid and not the technology they had that was like an xray from 3 angles. Hmmm
Tony Robson Ellis bloom No he didn't. Yes, I do believe McKinley ALMOST won but Remigino dipped his head to the white line before McKinley crossed it. But I do believe McKinley was winning the race.
