I hope so desesperately that they will make a version which can go higher to 1,7m (without head), without the center column (that is quite fragile, not so pro, and since i put a slider on it, you loose a lot of balance with the center collumn at the top). I'm okay with a longer storage lenght. And also with a 75mm bowl. that would be the PERFECT tripod. i'm tired of unlocking and locking each legs at the bottom of my tripod.

Just one screw-in spike per leg is a must for dense grass. Otherwise it will not dig into the ground and will wobble. This serious flaw just kills this beautiful idea. I hope Smallrig will address this. Thank you for your review.

@SuperSuperka I doubt they will, they've been using this foot design in all their tripods lately with the removable feet to reveal the 2 spikes underneath. If stability is an issue, you could always tie it down or weigh it down using the hook in the centre column

@@itmeremy I know about hooking, but in reality it's not good either. Still not stable enough. Not good at hills, not good because you may need to reach backpack while filming.

I can't wait to get me one. I literally just bought the cobra strike 3 because of its quick extend.

The tripod seems really nice but it’s not hydraulic, there is no liquids involved. It relies on gravitational forces alone
@itmeremy

@@The_Daliban Fair point, I think you're right. That's just what they're calling it
@The_Daliban

@@itmeremy true. It also keeps the cost down. It’s think at the end we have to keep in mind it’s the first iteration and the price is really fair for what you get. Great review. Keep it up👍🏻

I think the hydrolics are in the handle? similar to a motorcycle clutch/brake lever perhaps. That would explain the delay as it 'seals' up to lock. Looks like the legs just have air in them, using pressure to hold them up. I could be wrong tho
@itmeremy
@itmeremy 6 дней назад
@mrclarky that could very much be possible, the clutch itself definitely has some resistance as if there's air or something in there

Unrelated but how you finding that new KB v-mount plate? I just ordered it for my fx30. Are you powering off the usb c port ?
@itmeremy
@itmeremy 5 дней назад
@HezJP it's great, I've had no issues with it and it makes things a lot easier. I actually made a video about it if you want to know more. And yes I power the camera through USB-C

@@itmeremythanks!! I just had a ZGCINE plate fry my FX30 after about 2 years, the plates USB C port shorted and smoked the cam. I picked up the KB so hoping for quality and no issues…

@HezJP oh wow that's not ideal. Kondor Blue make great stuff so I don't see that happening with theirs

For the tripod head unscrewing itself, some have little grub screws underneath when you remove it from the bowl to lock the head in. Does this have them? I think I see them at 14:20 try tighten them down. Also, for counter balance, it looks like your rig is quite vertical which would move your rigs centre of gravity and put attentional stress onto the counter balance system. You could try to bring everything in closer to the centre and then ensure the tripod is sitting right in the middle of the cameras balancing point.
@itmeremy
@itmeremy 8 дней назад
@Ryan-Payne interesting, I'll check for those grub screws. As for the counter balance, yes, I do believe the fact that it's fairly tall doesn't help, and adjusting where the rig sits front to back does definitely make a difference. So I probably could make it work, but I'd have to get it pretty much perfect front to back to make that happen. If I figure something out I might mention it in a future video
