If there was a Trails of Cold Steel parallel, given how Varga goes Gemini Judgment like Kurt Vander, I would say Impauldio's multi-weapon system is like the Thousand Weapons ability of Cedric's Testa-Rossa. With Senka gaining power to exceed her limit like Cedric Reise Arnor and Nao sharpening her knowledge in other ways and being content at what she can and can't do... like Kurt Vander.

Nao was a Hexaorb player and her rival is voiced by Misaki. What a fun coincidence.

It was really nice hearing Misaki's VA back after all these years, I absolutely loved the voice she did for Senka here.

Just wanna throw this out there Akina can still win next week. Sybilit most likely has something set in place so that no matter which side wins Sybilit’s plan goes off without a hitch, and if I’m right and Akina is Sybilit’s vessel then we have a hype next 5 episodes

Let me say this : Jinki said there's high possibility that Sybilt is possessed Fated Clash participants. What if that wasn't his only trap? If the other trap is "the one who won the Fated Clash will be possessed by me haha!" then? That will explain why Sybilt said "This is disgusting" so many times because he's already mentally polluted Akina, and he also won. If Akina is really corrupted, and 'his' avatar is Dark Rezael, its name will be "Destined One of Death" maybe? Because, look back at the first season, we heard the phrase "Fate of Death" referring to Akina many many times.

Theory, the chances that gab and sybilt being Rezael and Amorta support is quite high. Now that hikari wins i think it would actually be first fight kuon vs someone (suo maybe) for the final. and gab vs sybilt with hikari vs akina as an extra fight.

my theory is that Sybilt is siphoning Design Force while the tournament is in progress so that when the Fated Ones win… Gab and the Fated Ones discover the design force is severely lacking and then Sybilt obtains a true form and there is the next conflict for finale or cliffhanger for season 3

A very fun fight. It was cool to see Varga and Impauldio going all out. I'll admit that given Impauldio's unique mechanics, it would have been cool to see you guys react to it blind, but this was nice. What were your initial thoughts upon seeing those spoilers?

Weekly Dose of Overanalysis here! Fun Fact: Senka had 7 cards in hand at the end of her Divine Skill turn meaning she had one card in hand after using DIvine Skill and Senka was just 5k off from guarding Nao's remaining turn (from the cards we've seen her drive check), I honestly don't know how she just randomly died because if she had two cards in hand during Divine Skill she would obviously discard a shieldless card, the episode wants me to think that Senka had two shieldless cards in hand when she already went through 5 copies of them and her deck should only have like 8 shieldless cards (not counting Blitz). That last card in Senka's hand should've just been a 5k and she would've survived but I guess she wasn't suppose to win so they didn't show that last card in her hand just making us assume it's a card with no shield. Another thing is that Senka should've put the Bobalmine behind vanguard and the Gather robot behind Vinstar or just keep one of them in hand for that 5k block because her numbers were already big enoguh with the drives to pressure Nao to drop both her pgs and the rest of her hand regardless. Also that Megumi diss was FOUL, as a Megumi lover I enjoyed seeing her back for a moment. I have a theory that she'll play a role in the latter half of the season because she seemed to have seen Senka from somewhere (maybe from middle school because they both go to the same all girls school at least when Senka was younger before she left Kaga), and the fact that Megumi was added to the chibi crew that features cards at the end of that episode (and she's part of the Destined crew in terms of assortment), honestly hoping she does play a role in the later half of this season, I would appreciate a new Magnolia form or for her to use masque again. Overall this episode was really good, it did NOT top last episode for me because Yuna is best DZ girl and honestly I just like having more backstory, this fight definitely had more budget due to the animation and Senka having her own theme with Impauldio (whereas Kyohma and Yuna didn't get their own themes or at least new ones), this episode was more fight and less story (which is the opposite of last episode) as they barely covered Senka and Nao's relationship outside of oral passing and that one flashback scene. I'm interested to see what that card Nao found at the end of the episode, it's most definitely gonna play a role but I wonder what it could be? I doubt it's Aquamarine or something.

If you think about it i like the comparison of some unit like different side of same coin, westra and aelqulibra both ping damage, nao and senka both check 4x if you think about it in their own way. (stretch but alden and zorga makes retire obsolete in their own terms, can't be retired // revive after retired)

First of all, right on the money who wins this 😎. Second, Man I love Senka 🤣🤣. This fight is amazing. I love this Impauldio, not only it doesn’t rely on multi atk, It hits hard with Big Number. Not just that even the rearguard can have drive checks too making it even more powerful. The best bet is do 3 PG but thats not going to happen in all game so it’s surprising hard to guard as the game goes and the gauge keeps piling.

I truly enjoyed this episode my heart was racing throughout the cardfight, but I'm so glad Nao won and Varga striking the fatal strike towards Impauldio was epic 🔥. I'm liking Senka and the fact that she's voiced by Misaki's VA makes it better. As for the next episode Akina has to lose for the sake of the plot and as for Kuon I can definitely see him as some sort of sleeper agent. Only time will tell, sucks we have to wait for the next episode, but the wait will be worth it.

Very good episode, though, I'm worried about the rest of the Showdown. Not sure what Nao has, but I think it could be an answer for Akina's Rezael deck. As for the next fight, If Akina wins, then I'm sure that Hikari nor Sybilit is not gonna take too kindly to the result and the latter is gonna interfere in someway. If Hikari wins, then it'll be a draw, but I'm just not sure what's going to happen if there is a tie. As far as Hikari's statement before the episode ended, that also something I'm worried about. If she intends on changes the past, what could it mean for everyone else? Could it be a repeat for the "Future Hikari" scenario? Man... all i see is that there's going to be a win, but at some cost.

This season been full of so many twist and turn that I don’t think Akina chance are so grim Something I feel like definitely validate his chance of win is this 32:01 that all the destined one expect kuon would be cured along with something I thought about back in like the first two episodes is how if there was a tie breaker what about the other two people who would still be under sybilit control I don’t think sybilit would let them go so easily This was mentioned through Akina worrying about kuon

This fight was incredible, could’ve gone either way. Also appreciated that Tenka is just a solid rival, just energetic, not evil. Next week is it, we finally get to see Hikari vs Akina, present Hikari anyways.

If anything I'd say if anything Sybilt's influence may have made Senka a "little" less patient is all, and force the climatic confrontation with her rival earlier than she originally intended. Can just imagine in the background Sybilt having to police Senka so she doesn't Leeroy Jenkins it. Honestly I think her wish would be something along the lines of... FIGHT FOREVER! CLAP, CLAP! CLAP, CLAP, CLAP!!! (With presumably Nao/an endless stream of skilled opponents to match herself against) Also when was it ever said that Impauldio was the fastest? From a writing perspective Koufu makes a fair amount of sense. Lets the writer play a bit more with the numbers while maintaining a believable amount of clutch. And considering Blangdmire exists, having a larger amount of potential shield against something you don't quite know what it does seems reasonable on Nao's part, rather than Impale Horn that may have just drawn into another grade 3. Do have to wonder in regards to Odium, whether it'll reflect the abilities of Rezael, Amorta or both? Have also been wondering how they'll finagle the Blangdmire vs Liael shot in the opening to happen. Or if its a case Hikari vs Kuon. And if your best of three finale idea does happen, who would be the third? Jinki vs Taizo? Gabwellius vs Sybilt? War of the Idol Fanbases?

I hope we get an explanation towards the back story. I would prefer if it would be a two episode fight to let plot expand on Akina and Hikaris current dynamic and the events of the past. I just hope we get a good explanation of what happened 10 years ago, because something has always seemed strange to me. We all know that the Uniformers made the stadium. So I don't know why we never saw Jinki or Gui be a bit surprised where the showdown took place. Or why Gui and Yuys was the main catalyst for the events in divine z

I do hate how Bushiroad wrote themselves into a corner. If they are setting up Akina vs Kuon for the 7th fight, we know Akina loses. Like the 6th match your homeboy loses then fights the guy who demolished the fated one YOU struggled against. Logically it makes 0 sense given that the Destined Ones still have more wishes to be granted then not. Jinki, Arguably Senka, Hikari and Kuon whereas based off how Gab described the Fated ones, Raezel cannot save Hikari if Akina loses but Fate triumphs. Only Fated one who has a wish is Masanori as everyone else already is on the path to achieving their wish, or dont have one, so motivation is low but offset by 3-4 of the Destined ones still having a wish. It would make more sense for Either Taizo to take on Kuon, or for Mikoto to since both of them have inate counters to the Infinity Markers through CEO authorization, or Krysrains Divine Skill's timing working best AFTER the marker has been removed

I’m not gonna jump the gun, but i think Akina being possessed or something would be obvious either way, cause Hikari has been suspicious with her behavior, so i’m not gonna get my hopes up if it’s Akina.

With now even Jinki suspecting Kuon, it's clear he is not the possessed one (if there is any to begin with). I'm not a fan of Dragress final attack "animation" being the cheapest drawing technique of "one second here, the next second there" that low budget anime uses. Maaybe with better direction or storyboarding the final attack could look more dynamic without compromising the budget, but I digress. While Senka's exploration being so short kind of gets a pass because of her characterization as a quickdraw and sassy/energetic girl...Nao's growth was limited to a lecture/dialogue instead of the episode actually showing at least some line about how her path to pro is going.
