The cost of the lift to be taken out or put in is crazy expensive, what a total ripoff. These Marines have no shame. Anyway, Get better, you're still young, looking forward to many more years of boating adventures on your channel

Good to see ya Cap’t, glad to hear from you. Been a while, been checking old video comments to see if there were any updates on how you’ve been. Hope you’re doing well. Bitter sweet for for sure, but things are just that… Family, Friends, Experiences, they go on with you. You’ll always have the adventures on Good Times, didn’t sell those stories! The day a new owner takes possession of your boat, leaves a man torn. Happy it’s sold and relieved of the burdens of insurance, slip rental, constantly watching storms, and countless other worries. On the other hand, feels like saying, goodbye, to an old friend. Remembering the hours and days of spending time on her, travel, fishin trips, docktales with buddies, even the trials of keeping her in good shape. GoodTimes, brought you about 1/5 of the loop or better. I pray the next boat will bring you the rest of the way. Thanks Mike

Try and remember this,, Regular silicone is for above the water line.. 3m 5200 is the only thing you use below the water line period.. Regular breaks down chemically in salt environments and will NOT last.. You will be redoing that again in the future
@CaptainMike1965
@CaptainMike1965 Год назад
I will take it into consideration. However I must argue the point, though I don't normally use silicone below the water line, in this case I think it is better. The reason is there is a chance that the strut could have to come off in the future(vibration issue, damage, etc) If I were to have used 5200, lets just say, I wouldn't want to be the one trying to get it off.
@gatorsaw3315
@gatorsaw3315 Год назад
@@CaptainMike1965 I see your point but thats really not what your wanting to do.. You dont have to put a ton on.. It goes around the bolts only being thats the only thing needing sealed. If you glue the whole strut Yes that would be a pain to get off . But if done correctly you would just have to hammer the bolts out using little force. As a rule in marine mechanics its the only thing to use below the water line. Side story.. I did know a guy who used 5200 to seal his speakers and when he went to replace them he had to use a hammer and the speakers were in 100 pieces when he finally got them off. But there is no replacement below the water line.. best of luck bro
