+zoompolo it's probably because of her post -cancer medication or something like that I mean she's beaten cancer(!). It's who she is and I don't think it's nice to say something like that when you don't know the reason why she's the way she is.
I LOVE this..... after having been diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year, a friend recommended I check out Tig Notaro (I thought it was a band at first since he knows I love to dance). Then the morning after getting my port put in, I came across the documentary on Netflix & while I love discovering new music, I was totally stoked that Tig is not in fact a band. I'm straight, but every single thing that was said & done in the film I can 100% relate to, not to mention laugh at. I watched it again with my mom who fought her own breast cancer battle 4 summers ago & she loved it as well. Finally, the HBO doc premiered the Sunday after my 2nd Friday chemotherapy treatment. Again perfect timing as the horrendous side effects really start Sunday mornings & watching it helped infinitely more than the pain pills & anti-nausea pills combined. Maybe laughter really is the best medicine....
Her wife, Stephanie, was straight before she met Tig. Tig even had to stop their early friendship because Stephanie said she was straight and Tig didn't want to be heartbroken, but they ended up missing each other too much and got back together. This was all in Tig's Netflix documentary.
I laughed through most of this and then when she talked about cancer and scars being just being a symbol of healing, I just teared up. What a beautiful outlook on such a battle.
Tig Notaro, is truly a very funny, deeply sensitive, intelligent woman and mom.. I am glad Ellen, finally was able to meet her. I love her on Netflix..
Two comedic geniuses together on one stage is almost overload. They are both extremely compassionate and talented human beings, the like of which we need more.
Ive been waiting for Tig to come on Ellen ever since her iconic Largo show. She's an inspiration not just to those personally affected by disease or discrimination but to anybody who has ever felt like the world is crashing down on them. Love her calm spirit. - C
Tig Notaro is the modern day Bill Murray that no one has realized yet. She has the closest comic sensibilities - out of any other comedian or comic actor today - to Bill. The definition of deadpan.
I just wanna point out the fact that both Jimmy Fallon and Ellen didn’t remember meeting that absolute gem, jewel, rare treasure of a woman before what they thought was their first encounter with her, and I cannot fathom how that could be.
I love Tig she seems like a really cool person,🌸🌸🌸 apart from being so good looking! Loved when she played and sang Adele on Ellen's birthday party, I saw the clip and I laughed so hard😂😂😂
I couldn't look at it when l watched Tig's hbo special. All l feel was her pain, and she will not admitted her pain. She ignores it, works through it and comes out on top. What a great spirit, a super strong woman and a funny person. That was spirit talking to you. 🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹🍀🌹
Thin Thin Rodgers she’s a pretty well seasoned stand up comic, which would explain her comfort level on such a big national stage. She has a pretty funny standup act, I’m sure you’d love it if you liked this interview
I met Ellen exactly 18 years ago, she wasn't a nice person to any of her fans that attempted to speak to her., in fact she was quite hostile. Tig is gently attempting to point out that it's ridiculous that NOW because she's becoming a famous comedian Ellen wants to be friends and even apologizes for not supporting her sooner, but when she met Tig when she was a WAITER 18 years ago, Ellen couldn't have cared less about her. (Ellen isn't getting the irony of what Tig is saying.)
then what's the point? how many interactions have you had with random people throughout your life and for whatever reason you didn't connect or talk to a person in depth? you're telling me u talk to and deeply pursue every single person who you were introduced to? decades later she rediscovered her and then found out she was cool. that doesn't mean she was evil to her and I'm not sure that's even how tig was trying to come across
I was eating goldfish right when she announced the babies' names. I looked down and saw the fish with sunglasses on the bag, and read it's name, and died a little bit.
Aww this is so cute ellen looked so happy to see her haha it's weird because it's almost an exact replica of ellen (not that Tig is trying to be ellen I'm just saying they look alike in a way) but both Tig and Ellen are such inspiring people they deserve everything they've accomplished ❤️❤️❤️
Did anyone sense chemistry?????? I sure did! That might explain some of the tension lol Also, this was an interview, and she knows the difference. It wasn't exactly a spot for her to showcase her comedic routine. I think it shows her maturity, the fact that she didn't try to pull the attention in that manner, but that she really let it be an interview. I hope her and Ellen become great lifelong friends!
