Data Mesh is a strategic approach to modern data management and a way to strengthen an organization’s digital transformation journey. Data Mesh Days are where data leaders and practitioners gather to share best practices and use cases, forge critical relationships, and learn about advancements in data mesh. The intent of this day is to provide a vendor-neutral space for sharing and learning about data mesh.
Data Mesh Days are hosted by the Data Mesh Learning (DML) community and will showcase talks from end users and others in the industry who are implementing data mesh. Each Data Mesh Day will focus on a different industry vertical.
The Federated Data Governance Journey

In a data mesh implementation, federated data governance paves the way for broad experimentation and innovation in data in ways that were not previously possible. But an organization must carefully consider how to do this safely, and how to bring stakeholders along on the journey. In this talk Hebborn will discuss the importance for an organization to define why to invest in data governance up front, how to inspire stakeholders by sharing expected benefits, and empowering them to contribute by setting clear processes and procedures. Throughout the talk, she’ll refer to how this was successfully managed at Merck Gruppe.
