About Married with Children:
The less-than-lovable Bundys are a radical departure from the saccharine-sweet TV families popular since the days of Father Knows Best. With offbeat humor and unflinching honesty, Married... paints a more realistic picture of middle-class existence, warts and all. Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) is a shoe salesman who is fond of frequently reliving his doubtful 15 seconds of fame on the football field. Al is terrified of the all-too-frequent amorous advances of his ditsy wife Peggy (Katey Sagal), who spends most of Al's wages at the salon and the mall. They have two teenage kids: stunning but superficial party animal Kelly (Christina Applegate) and egocentric Bud (David Faustino). Married for 16 semi-blissful years, Peggy and Al have found that the secret to a happy marriage is to accept one another's idiosyncrasies.

Amanda is a hack. She got producer credits after a certain number of years into production, got a voice.... Then ran a muck. We started getting too Marcy episodes at a certain point, eventually she wanted to put her hands on everything, becoming abrasive in the writer room, she ensured the writers include all her feminist ideas and Marcy must embody them. She went radical feminist, ruined the show, Which is why Ed O'Neil stopped doing it. Amanda Bearse ruined Married with Children.

I still LOL when I hear Springer announce his show's sponsor! This episode besides marking the debut of NO' MAAM also warns us of society wanting to destroy male only spaces. & it's gotten worse since this episode 1st aired nearly 30 years ago.

Marcy is the quintessential modern feminist. The funniest thing on the show regarding feminism is that Marcy tries to make Peggy think "female empowerment" and all that stuff and Peggy is a very entitled woman, yes, but not motivated by feminism but because she's Peggy. The episode where Peggy attends Kelly's school for career day is one example of that: Peggy's lecture is cynically "empowered" AND goes against the basic principles of feminism at the same time. Marcy would've died listening to Peggy lol

Looks like most SNL rejects sided with Amanda and started sooner than expected, subtle but steady. Hence the poor quality of later seasons. Too bad she was turning into a freak instead of using her influence to better the show. To show more grounded topics instead of the unhinged nonsensical comedy (like a parody)
