Lol I never post things like this and I probably won’t ever again, but to you guys, Chappers, Captain, Rabea, and the rest of your amazing crew, thank you. I’ve played guitar for many years. Sadly, I went through a nasty divorce a while back and had to sell my guitars and gear to get through all the fees and other expenses..I lost my love for music and playing guitar for quite some time...then I found you all. (Anderton’s, Rob Chapman, Rabea Massad) Your content is incredible and you all reignited my love for guitar. I had a chance to play a Ghost Fret not too long ago and I absolutely adored it. When money is right, that’ll be the first guitar I buy to rebuild my collection. Thank you all!

Yes, have you put a new rig back together? I am curious to know how it's going. I understand losing your gear & ultimately the joy that playing music (everything pleasurable, really) along with it. I'm currently in a similar position, rebuilding my rig after stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment from myself over the last decade or so. Since getting sober last year my brain is re-rewiring itself & I'm starting to get the natural dopamine back again, playing music with friends & old band mates & such. Feeling grateful to be alive, tbh. Hope to hear that everything is going well for you if you read this!

Lee is just so _tasteful._ When i started watching Andertons, it was obvious he was 'just learning,' but now he does stuff that makes me go Whoa, and he does it far more often than some of the major/big name players. Even recognizing he doesn't have their technical proficiency, what makes *music* music is the taste and artistic sensibilities. I look forward to hearing Lee play in every video.

Paul Charlton Hey, Paul. I realize he’s been in bands but I had the feeling he was more of a rhythm player. His solo work is something he’s still learning and there has been really obvious progress over the past 4-5(?) years. He has had a ‘mini series’ with Pete and maybe some others tutoring him. I grew up always intimidated by soloing, and still can’t do it-some sort of mental block. But seeing how beautifully he has developed has been an inspiration.

To add a thought for cab emulation... I imagine the VAST majority of buyers (like me) are hobbyist/intermediate players who won't be recording the next top 40 hit but DO play at church, or on the weekends with their buddies at small local gigs, etc. We are the folks hampered with car repairs, limited space for gear at home, tight budgets, and nagging spouses. We live in the world of mid-level "good enough" gear. Having a direct emulated out on the amp, while not the world's best sounding option, solves a lot of cost/complexity issues for the hobbiest. One less box to buy/lose/break, one or two less cables, etc. Sure it's not the greatest, but I'm glad it's there. :-) Carry on, Cap 'n Rob! Love this channel!
@mattgilbert7347
@mattgilbert7347 5 лет назад
But the cab em on the BB15 is shite. Just awful. Idk about the 30, it's almost certainly the same. I leave it off on my 15 and run the XLR to my NU>X Solid Studio, then DI. It really is terrible emulated out.
@armadachamp
@armadachamp 5 лет назад
@@mattgilbert7347 I had the Bassbreaker 15 for a while and loved it, but the terrible emulation is part of the reason I moved on to something else. For what it's worth, they got a better tone out of the direct output for this demo than I ever got out of my BB15, so Fender may have improved it for this model.

I own this amp, bought it last year and still i haven't been disappointed by this beauty yet. I used it for live playing and recording, this amp really is a beautiful work horse. Full sounding, extremely versatile and the best of all, sturdy as fuck. The direct output actually saved my ass during a radio gig. Me and the band were squeezed into a tight talk-show recording room, we had a bit of space to move around (the drums took up most of the space) but we had no sound isolation, miking up the amp would have been a nightmare for the sound engineer in post production. So we just got a microphone cable, hooked up the amp to the digital mix set, and we did the gig. (yes the quality wasn't all that good, but i managed to get a descent tone from it). Its better to have something and not need it, then to need it and not have it.

in researching the bassbreaker line, I just can't figure out why fender is so all over the place and inconsistent between models... they're apparently all good amps and this new 30R seems damn near perfect but I would have liked to see a power mode selector or master attenuator for getting good tube driven tones at lower levels... .. the 15 combo almost had it right as well, but no footswitch channel selection.. and then you have the 45 combo which has a power mode selector, footswitch channel selector, but no effects loop or reverb... what in the bloody hell fender? are you drunk? did you put different people in charge of developing each model?!

It's about the market. You csmt have every amp have everything or else no one would buy certain models
@davidpopelka4073
@davidpopelka4073 4 года назад
Yeah I fully agree. From my point of view there is no relation between total power and features. If some one would like to play loud he should buy higher watts amps. If some one would like to use it at home/studio or smaller clubs then he will choose lower power amp. So market is covered just by power itself not by features. So why on 45w version is not effect loop??? Fender amp is not high gain metal beast. Most Fender customers are playing clean and dirty. And for example delay/choruss and if some one doesnt like build in reverb then also reverb is quit in use so why the hell such good amps for money doesnt have at least effect loop???. If some one would like some external butique pedal with delay etc I cant image how it will work by using just guitar input. Power reduction is welcome as well and due to lack of minimum varibility I had choose Blackstar instead of Fender. Im not wexpecting that Fender needs to be equipt as Blackstart like USB for direct recording etc...so this not what customers require from Fender. So I think that Fender is loosing much more market by such strange engineering decisions and luck of minimum necessary features.

I spoke to Fender about the unit and my only opinion to them was that in future they need to put a Level Control on the High Gain Function. It’s WAY TOO LOUD trying to use it as a Lead Boost!! Other than that it’s one of their Best Amps they’ve come up with and in my 55yrs of performing I’ve played more than a few Fender Amps! Keep up the Good Work Guys, Love the Anderson’s Channel!! I think Fender was on the right track with the Bassbreaker series, the 15 being the standout, and with the 30, they've given gigging guitarists exactly what they need - two channels, extra gain, 12 inch speaker, and more headroom. So many great amps out already this year - Nextone, MB California Tweed, the Chris Stapleton Princeton, Tremlord, etc.

By putting the "salt & pepper" grillcloth on this amp, it's basically become a Fender JTM45 at this point. I really liked the 18/30 in concept, but the lack of a spring reverb was an oversight (especially because it was going for that Blackface/Brownface tonality). The 15 also (to me) just came across as a modded Blues Junior. It's frustrating when companies that have a track record for great products don't roll out a great product on the first try, but it's satisfying when they listen to feedback and course-correct, which is what the 30 seems like.

The phrase Lee was looking for at 12:41 was "that extra push over the cliff." I can't be the only one here thinking that, can I?

I think the comment about the inclusion of DI is short sighted. The built-in speaker emulation gives you a quick, no frills way of recording, so even if it isn't the best, it's still handy in a pinch! And you can turn off the emulation and run the signal into an IR of your choice in your DAW, which can make for an excellent sound! And those IRs cost only a fraction of the Two Notes stuff, so getting an excellent sound isn't as costly as Lee makes it sound. I'm really glad Fender included the feature on the amp. They really knew what they were doing and truly listened to their customers.

Nice, good job! I would like to see the Bassbreaker 30 face off against the Marshall DSL40CR. They're about the same price point and I have the Marshall. Convince me I need the Fender BB30!
@LeviBulger
@LeviBulger 5 лет назад
Dsl40cr is better IMO. And I say that as a big fender fan and initially thought I would go with the BB30. But you can't deny that EL34 punch and grind with a stellar clean channel on the Marshall. Bassbreaker is cool, but it still has that annoying el84 shrillness when driven. That's why I chose the Marshall personally, although some people like those really ear piercing highs. Last reason for me, was that the Marshall took gain (fuzz especially) pedals far better. It just compresses so well. If Marshall hadn't revoiced the DSL and put in that amazing V type, I would have probably went with the fender. But the CR is fantastic
@Smart-Alex
@Smart-Alex 5 лет назад
Felix Blacksher I would tend to agree especially having the older Bassbreaker 15 (which took pedals really well for me). I love my 40CR but it would be a worthy shootout alright! :)

I own this amp, I have now for a few months. I've played it quit, I've played it really loud 105-109db, I've played it through headphones which it does not have a dedicated headphones jack however get a mic cord and a cheap mixer and presto! Dude on the Fender website suggested a Mackie Mix5 for $70 on Amazon and it works GREAT!! and the balanced output cab sim sounds really good. , Sorry I'm getting in the weeds .... My point! This is a FANTASTIC amp! This is for sure a, "Do Everything" amp! It's clean takes pedals, hell it's gain stage takes pedals really well. The amps stage2 dirty channel is lethal, like Marshall lethal but with it's own sound because I have a DSL20cr right next to it and I run 'em both some times, Fender = wet & Marshall = dry and I use the amps distortion sometimes and it's heavenly when I do. The Marshall does it's scooped thing and the fender has tons of mid to balance everything! If you're still reading, you're probably considering buying or just have and waiting for it, if so, buy it or grats!!

Finally! Juuust the right wattage with no weird two channel switching, different wattage etc (18/30) I think 30w straight is absolutely ideal. And the tones it can go go through, very nice cleans and that gain!!! Wow! A fender which has a little Marshall on the side. WHAT ELSE CAN YOU ASK FOR?!?!?!

Wonderfully played in the intro!! Lot of heartfelt melodic passages!! Reminds me of the Deep Purple, Rainbow ballads which had folk inspired melodic rock guitar!!

That opening jam was very beautiful and emotional, those are the jams that Rob and Lee need more. I'd listen to them play stuff like that rather then that high gain nonsense. They both can play, but that shreddy rock stuff gets boring and generic after a while, the opening jam actually had some meaning behind it. Beautiful jam!
