This is the mistake did by too many people. The Rafale introduced things first, that people like to give to the f35. Such as EOTS, the Rafale was the first figther jet to fit such technology on an aircraft, as well as on a missile, with the new MICA NG. Even the Mirages aircrafts were doing the same. Mirage 2000 was the first aircraft in the world capable to fly very low close to the ground, in autopilot mode and capable to avoid and follow the ground, without human intervention.

Nope. F-35 is a joint programme, that’s why it was bought by many countries at first. Nobody got forced into anything. Now many countries are buying it, as it is a great platform which was meant for export right from the start. It is bought for it’s capability. I haven’t seen any country regretting their decision to buy F-35.

This is a great "entry-level" plane if your enemies are flying nothing more advanced than a 4th Gen vehicle. These are even better than anything the Russians have at this time. They may even be a bit better than China's J-20 which is supposed to be a 5th Gen Fighter but many doubt it is. But make no mistake, it can't and won't ever be able to compete with either the American F-35 or one of its watered-down versions sold to its Allies. It for sure isn't anywhere near an F-22. If you think stealth doesn't matter then you truly don't have a clue what the actual role of today's dual-role aircraft are and why stealth is literally the most important feature of a combat plane at this time. Make no mistake, this is a great plane for what it is. It's comparable to an upgraded F-16 and when piloted by a highly-trained and skilled pilot, can do things most other enemy planes and pilots can't do. It's just this plane, like the F-16, were designed for a "role" that no longer is considered applicable in today's warfare. These were fighters designed for dogfighting in close proximity whereas the F-35 and F-22 are designed for "dogfighting" from a 100 miles away. It doesn't do you any good if you can't get closer than a 100 miles away from your enemy if you get blown out of the sky. Right now the F-35 and F-22 are the ONLY planes in the world that can do that and still not be seen. China and Russia want you to believe their supposed 5th Gen planes the J-20 and the SU-57 can do that but everyone knows they can't. Putting a Dassault up against an F-35 or F-22 is much akin to bringing a knife to a gunfight. Those of us who actually know about these subjects get a pretty good laugh at some of those who THINK they know about it. While the F-35 and the F-22 are currently the greatest stealth multi-role planes out there, they are still a disappointment from where they should have been. This was done by actual design once it was realized the Chinese were hacking many of the plans for both the f-35 and F-22. Luckily the new FA-XX plane being developed currently will make every other plane obsolete in the sky. It's a 7th-8th Gen Plane that will be capable of verticle takeoff and landing, Electro-Magnetic Shield capabilities that will be able to take actual missile hits from ground to air and air to air strikes, and it will also be able to achieve orbit of the planet if needed. When flown without a pilot (it can be used with or without a human pilot), it will be able to eclipse Mach 10 in speed. Obviously, because of the speed and the fact they will be able to achieve actual orbit, the engines will no longer be "Jet" engines and instead, will be something completely different which means more than likely an engine capable of using a "solid cell fuel system" much like a nuclear power plant would use. The weapons systems are unknown at this time but they are believed to be something in the "Rail gun/Laser" family. It's interesting that the American Military was so hyped up on using Rail Guns and had advanced that system quite a bit but then suddenly they went "dark" with it and said it was no longer a legit candidate for combat. That usually means they no longer wanted info about it getting out as it was being repurposed for another role, such as a scaled-down version for a new plane.

Omnirole is something dassault made up and is not a term used in the industry, it's purely marketing.

You have no idea of what you're talking about lol First of all, the Rafale was neither the first nor is it the only omnirole jet in the whole world. Secondly, the F5 standard will only be operational in the late 2030s. And the Rafale just like any other modern fighter aircraft, already has the capability to detect an F-35 (or any other true 5th gen jet) with its radar or electro optical sensor. It's just that they're only capable of doing it at no further than near BVR distances. Thirdly, when it comes to detecting small drones, all modern fire control AESA radars can detect and track small drones without much difficulty. And although they can't obviously detect and track them at the great distances that they can detect/track late 4th gen fighter sized targets, they can still detect/track them at longer distances than they can detect/track a VLO stealth jet like the F-35, because a lot of these drones have RCS numbers a few orders of magnitude higher than those of a true 5th gen jet like the F-35. They were not designed to be VLO, stealthy drones with RCS values similar to those of a bee, or a mosquito, like the F-35 (and F-22) were. Finally, stealth is not going to become obsolete anytime soon. Sensor and counter-stealth technologies have improved a lot and will continue to do so, but so will stealth technology. Besides, even if all of the sudden a new revolutionary radar came out that could detect true 5th gen jets like the F-35 at the distances that current state of the art radars can detect modern 4th gen aircraft, that would only make 5th gen aircraft like the F-35 even more wanted and needed, and the advantage of 5th jets over 4th gen jets would stay the same, because everyone would quickly have this new kind of revolutionary radar and then due to basic physics and the radar equation, 4th gen aircraft would also be detected/tracked at even further distances and the detection/tracking range difference between a 5th and 4th gen jet would stay the same. The fact that all of the great powers military-industrial complexes are heavily investing in all kinds of stealth for all types of applications (not just stealth fighters and drones) speaks volumes and in itself already proves you wrong and shows how idiotic your smartass comment was.

And as I said, Dassault is specifically going for a stealth airframe with FCAS. The reason Rafale is not stealth is because Dassault had no concept of it when they developed it in the 80s. 3. Which makes literally 0 difference when you are dealing with a plane that has no countermeasures and is flying over the enemy radar. Stealth does not make you invisible, it only reduces the range of detection. The Soviet AA battery that shot down the F-117 only got target lock at 13 km, hysterically lower than what its target radar is supposed to be able to achieve. Even with 80s stealth tech it gave a huge strategic advantage as it severely reduced enemy IADS envelopes. Today, stealth platforms are not only much more optimized, but also combine stealth with EW. In an air-to-air fight, not only would the Rafale be completely unaware of enemy F-35s (let alone acquire a lock-on) but its radar also would be easily spoofed due to having a much weaker signal against F-35 than it would against 4th gen platforms. In fact, we don't even have to speculate on this. Rafale and F-35 have both been evaluated by serious airforces time and again - in Switzerland, in Finland, in Canada, in Belgium. ALL of them found the same result. F-35 is far and away superior in every relevant metric.

No one needs these as their " interceptor aircraft " They need these as their all around aircraft, it's a good interceptor, it's a good air superiority fighter, it's a good CAS bomber, it's a good strat bomber, it's a good maritime patrol fighter One can just scrap any small dedicated jet they have and replace them with the Rafale. In France it replaced the Mirage IV as Recon aircraft, 3 different types of Mirage 2000 ( C, D and N ) as air superiority, land attack and nuclear strike aircraft, the Mirage F1 as an interceptor and the Super Etendard as a carrier aircraft.

The rafale has won many battle simulations against F22... which is impressive and which the Tyfoon has never done. Also its air to ground capacities is battle proven due to the engagement of the Rafale in many wars in Mali, Yemen, Syria or Lybia. Tyfoon have no such experience and record.

When the USA (or any country on this planet as a matter of fact) have as many battle victories as France, we’ll consider giving you a ride on some proper planes. Not the cardboard ones from Boeing or Lockeed that are either falling from the sky, get stuck eternally in outer space or in the case of the f35 grounded. It might take a while though. You are pretty far behind.
