The Filament Bible - An Honest Review (of an app based Bible!) 

This review amazes me with just how much information is contained in the filament app. I just received my filament enabled Bible and I think it will 😊be my everyday study Bible as I will not need to carry my heavy study Bible as the app has so much of what I can see myself using. I did not realize this is the Bible I have been looking for.

10-22-2022: I tried the Filament once, and I wasn't crazy about it. I had NO idea that the study notes came from the enormous NLT Illustrated Study Bible. But after watching your video, I now have much respect for it, and I'll start using it! I also appreciated your comment at the end regarding the NLT itself. Thank you.

Thanks for sharing. I purchased a Tyndale Filament Bible recently and I've very impressed with the Filament app. Great to have the equivalent of a study bible in an inexpensive, thin-line bible.

Good review. I enjoy my Filament Bibles (I have a few lol). The "maps" section in the back is the most unique I've ever seen. This is one of my favorite "load outs" for light Bible study. Thin Bible + my tablet is a lot more streamlined than a honker like the ESV SB. This also gives me the ability to CHOOSE when to go to notes, which I find leads to less distracted reading sometimes. All that said, I hope they continue to improve Filament bc there's a lot more they could do with it when you consider common SB features that currently aren't in there (would love to see a Doctrine section, for example). Another Bible I haven't seen you review yet is the newer NLT Student Life Application Study Bible. I think it's a nice middle of the road option. Still pretty slim but has the application focused notes in print, plus illustrations, and helpful extra content like a really nice biblical narrative overview section. Then it is also Filament enabled so you can get the interpretation focused notes that way too (so it's like a souped up version of their Parallel Study Bible, in a way).

I found it. I purchased a wide-margin Filament-enabled NLT and I love it. I can take notes, use the study aids to better understand the text and easily respond to the text as I read it without having to remember which notebook corresponds to which study I'm doing or my bible being in one place and my notebook somewhere else. I love having my notes right next to the text.

Which would you recommend the filament bible with app or the NLT Illustrated Study Bible … I assume the app doesn’t have everything offered in the Study Bible? Just found your channel and thank you for your bible reviews…have you ever reviewed the Haydock Douay-Rheims Bible with commentary?

Are the study notes the same across translations?

Hi, I bought the Nlt Large Print bible and it doesn't have the " Visual Overview section" in it. How can I find the exact bible with it included? Mine is the Thinline Premium Bible. Could this be the reason why? Thanks
