We all know Kaylynn as the frisky maid from The Sims 2 Pleasantview, but in the Sims 3 Sunset Valley she is a child maid in her family house. Let's renovate this EA disaster to make it suitable for everyone's favourite housekeeper.
I always thought the log cabin look was a little out-of-place in this area - and I never considered it that Tudor-like. I've seen some people turn this into a base camp or bed-and-breakfast type of lot. I love the facelift you gave it. I think it fits he neighborhood much better.
Kaylynn and her mother Iliana (Zelda's sister) are the only neat sims in the Langerak family. Kaylynn's mostly the one cleaning since Iliana's a workaholic mom who's always at work (which is kinda why her relationship w/ her children are in Acquaintance level. It's also why Kaylynn has a better relationship with her dad Dustin, despite their conflicting traits.)
Speaking of Dustin, his relationship with Parker is in acquaintance level, though likely because Parker's more interested in getting attention with girls.
I'm still kinda reticent to add stuff like walk-in closets because there's no gameplay benefit. I approach building from the aspect of routing and helping the Sims succeed. But I am slowly learning the extravagance of design, partly thanks to you. :D
I gotta be honest, I never really thought about it but looking back I find it a little weird that out of all characters they could have put in instead at the time, they took a character that was rather sexualized in her only other appearance and turned her into a child (regardless of the timeline).
This turned out really beautiful! I especially love the style of the exterior, the house looks amazing now. So different from those old logs. 🥰 Not a bad impression of Mel B btw. 😉 And I totally share your obsession with walk-in closets. Never actually owned one unfortunately. Or actually I have one now, it's just that there's a bed in the middle.
Honestly you being a Sex and The City fan is so on brand in my mind. Also yes, Carrie’s apartment is amazing, could you try making it in the Sims sometime? 💙
The addition of those bump outs you do really, really make a difference. I've been inspired to try them and, yep, they add so much dimension. Ty Rek, i LOVE this house! Great work! ♥ 🏡
Hey friend. I just wanted to let you know. I have renovated Ye Olde Tudor. But kept the outside of the house the same. And kept the L-shape. I think I will do something similar to what you have done here. Thank you, you inspired me to rerenovate the house.
You're welcome, friend. I'm renovating Sunset Valley and have renovated almost all of the lots in the world. Even redid the cemetery and the park in the middle of town. I've also redone Goth Manor. Destroyed it in a fire according to the backstory. I've redone Ye Olde Tudor, but I think I'll redo it to what you did, too. I happen to like what you did to it. Gave me ideas. But I'll be keeping it empty.
@@Rekowcski I have redone Ye Olde Tudor. And did basically the same layout you did. But have gutted the interior completely. Top to bottom. And redid the shell as well. But don't worry about how I did what you did. You gave me the idea to redo the house all over again. But kept to my own design ideas. It is not a log cabin anymore like it was at first. I use a masonry facade now. With stone going up the middle of the house, front and back.
@@Rekowcski I finished most of the lots in my world. I use almost all of the EP and SP now. So I get to use buildings and stuff from them now. I never knew you could do that before. I have replaced the cemetery, and the park in the middle of town. Used the baseline of what was there originally. But changed it to my own ideas. I did add some stuff along the beaches now. I have two beach lots and a fishing spot and lots of palm trees along the beach now. Even erected a statue in the middle of my park. I finished Ye Olde Tudor. I used your idea and cut it to a rectangular shape now. Got rid of the log cabin. Didn't put a pool in tho. Put in a playground and closed in the backyard. Might I suggest move the police station to where the bookstore movie theater and grocery store are and move the movie theater somewhere else. And kept the grocery store and moved the spa there. I did that. I used other community buildings from other expansion packs, too. I have replaced almost all community buildings. And I did replace the Mosquito Cove with something else. I didn't like that lot or the house. Sorry I talk too much, had alot to say.
I also renovated this house into a brick mansion before. I think I kept the original L shape, added up a pool, a rose garden and a gazebo, shrink the kitchen and add up a two floor high castle-y noble using dining LOL. I kept the emerald green fabric and cherry wood to feel "old fashioned". But I also deleted everything 70s.
love how this came out, justice for kaylynn!! i've never touched this house (or the one the langeraks originally live in for that matter) bc it's so hideous, you really worked magic on it. also, on the topic of secret passages, that would be perfect for the altos since they're criminals.
Regarding the chimney, the store set that comes with the canning station also comes with re-colourable chimney pieces. They've become staples in my builds
Same for me! Was just gonna comment about this. I just replace the chimney with those pieces constantly now, even though it looks a little more rustic on the top piece 😂
I have a soft spot for this house. I always move my sims there when they're rich enough! The view is lovely! I love what you did with it! ❤ Greetings from Colombia!
