Well that's it after three years and over 100 flights the A14 officially opened today, unfortunately, due to the lockdown I was not there to film it
The project is now complete so this is my last video on the subject

Your videos have been great up until January of this year I had a parts delivery van driving job for two years based in diss, Norfolk and my route covered Cambridgeshire and I was up and down the A14 between Cambridge and st ives every day and I have been amazed how things have changed but I have been amazed how it looks from above one of my regular customers was nationwide accident repair at swavesey and I told the parts bloke about your videos and he said that they were great. Anyway your videos have been awesome and if you get the chance it would be great to see it now it's finished, keep safe and looking forward to seeing more videos.

Please do another end to end one! Just to compare. And for the record. And some of the bridges etc aren't finished.

Your work is not finished. 3 years ago I was invited down to Girton to see the flyover being built over the A428 now whilst there the chief engineer told me there is only 1 lane in that tunnel heading east what a nightmare this is going to be when all traffic is back up and running. Also the slip from the A14 onto the 3 lane Cambridge bypass the offside lane is pretty dangerous with inadequate space. Loved the vids they've been great and maybe it would be nice for you to the A428 to Black Cat on your next mission. Thanks Jonathan.

Thanks, "drone guy"! As a truck driver who regularly has to use that stretch of road, I found it really interesting to watch its development. The new road is so much better for through traffic.

Thank you Jon - I appreciate all the work that went into the series. If you _do_ have time to do a full-length video now it's finished, that'd be brilliant.

Looking forward to seeing it from the air when they let you out, since I'm not gonna be driving it in the next few months!

I will try and do a final run as soon as we are allowed to travel, quite a distance for you to go just to drive on the new road, hope you and the family are all safe and well

Jontracey. Without a doubt, you absolutely must complete your task with one final fly past, over the whole project (terrible music included)(!) When safe to do so. I'm one of the many subscribers that has enjoyed watching, although it has been on mute sometimes! Maybe you could do one to include the Huntingdon section once that's finished too? I moved away from the area a while ago, and have watched with interest. Seriously mate, this shouldn't be over yet, you did a cracking job, and it would be nice to see it closed properly.

I will certainly try to do a final run as soon as the lockdown is over and it’s appropriate for me to go out to the site

HI Jonathan.. Just wanted to say thanks from us here living in Over, and the trucking community for providing some really interesting and informative footage of the A14/A1307 upgrades. Hope you escape the lockdown like us soon and wish you, your family and doggy all the very best in the future. Who knows, maybe a super big TV company will snap up the broadcasting rights to use your footage. The Discovery Channel or B1M. All the best mate... Mike (PS.. Before the fat lady sings, can you post a vid of Huntingdon Flyover being demolished :-)) LOL! :-))

This has been an amazing series to watch; thanks for the time spent putting it all together. Having driven cars and coaches up and down there before and during the works, it’s been great to see from above just what’s been going on.

Thank you so much for all the videos. Although I live locally it's been fascinating to get the bigger picture from your drone videos. I would second the remark about one final video when you are finally able to get out, as there may be road enthusiasts out there that can't get to Cambridgeshire and it would bookend your excellent work nicely :-)

Thankyou Jonathan for all these videos,I watched each one with interest,I ,like thousands of others have used, and dreaded using this length of A14 for access to Stansted,it will be so good now,if I ever need to go there again.Once again thanks for all the work put into the vids, and,as others have said, one final full length one would be great as a historical record. Best wishes .Alan

Love how the footage of the new A14 got me interested in roads. I don't drive yet but I do like your videos. With the Black Cat Roundabout being mentioned. Perhaps Highways England needs to sort that junction out as well building a new A1 bridge to pass over the River Great Ouse and to knock down the old Tempsford Bridges.

Hi Jonathon, long time no see!. I was under the impression that journalists are 'essential' and that would mean that someone like you would be allowed to continue. The decision would obviously be yours, whatever. I did have a drive through a few weeks ago, before it was all finished and am astonished at the scale of devastation to the surrounding landscape and the complete separation of the habitat between the South and the North sides, I expect we will find quite distinct species developing quite soon!. Thank you anyway for all your good work and all the best in the future. Cheers, Richard.

Thanks for all the hard work: I know that filming is only half the task and that video editing can consume all the time there is as well. It’s been fascinating to “properly” see what’s been going on just on our doorstep.

Are you talking about the A1 and A421 Black Cat Junction, Roxton village near St. Neots and Bedford and the 2 bridges going over the River Great Ouse. They need to build a new A1 bridge to keep the traffic on the A1 Great North Road moving. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roxton,_Bedfordshire en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Cat_Roundabout
