After 20 years, ECW comes to an end. WWE ECW has its final episode ever! WWE is starting a new innovative TV program next week called NXT! To finish off the final episode of ECW, the current reigning ECW Champion Christian will take on Ezekiel Jackson in Extreme Rules. Also, Abraham Washington hosts The Abraham Washington Show with the biggest guest of all time. The Big Show and Miz defend the WWE Unified Tag Team Titles!

The WWEECW era actually got me back into wrestling. It was the only thing I had on free TV so every now and then I would watch it. When Christian came back, I was back in full throttle.

2005 WWECW was created and TNA found a home on SpikeTV. 2010 WWECW dissolves and TNA do their ECW angle. A lot can happen in a year in wrestling; let alone 5!

Its the same reason why if a wrestling company have a bad rut for a while, they will just continue on, because they think hopefully and eventually they will get out of it. Its probably the same mindset of someone like Roman has. Was hated despite being babyface but hey someday it will get better so just put your head down and work towards it.

Yeah, I remember that time and I was like what the hell was this and I’m like why of all people to be the final ECW champion you had the freaking guy who had a eye patch that one time as champion like you could’ve have someone like a Drew McIntyre as final champion or a Steve Carino but no you have to have Ezekiel Jackson as the final champion, which is still questionable to this very day maybe they thought could’ve he could beat the undertaker and they’re going to build him up and wanted him to defeat the shriek maybe that’s why he was the final champion but for whatever reason it was stupid

Arguably only because of name association. They are more or less the same kind of show but I know for a fact there are people who liked ECW that wouldn't be caught dead watching GCW. Branding goes a long way in wrestling.

Shame that an NXT like ECW could've worked great but somehow it got botched *looks over at WELLL Big Show winning the ECW championship* but on the brightside at least it wasn't the end of everyone who was in ECW at the time and at least NXT came from it( not the Gameshow NXT)

ECW on sci-fi wasn’t as bad as people remember it. Programming as a whole weekly sucked, so to expect the third brand to somehow be better than everyone else never made sense.

Aren’t the 4 people that aren’t acknowledged in ECW’s championship history all champions when it was Eastern Championship Wrestling and decidedly part of NWA? Sandman also won the Eastern Championship Wrestling title. If so, then WWE doesn’t have the intellectual property rights to mention those reigns; NWA still owns that.

WWECW wasnt ECW. But i enjoyed watching the show every week moreso than Raw or Smackdown. I liked how we saw people we usually didnt see. Plus it seemed like people got more time to wrestle. I hated the Hubcap title & hated how EJ won the title on the final night. I liked EJ but would have preferred Christian end as champion because he was awesome on the show.

I feel the reason why they had Ezekiel Jackson take the title was because Christian immediately transitioned into being a pro on NXT. So if he was preoccupied with that and wasn’t defending the title much on Monday night Raw, I can see why they would take the title off him.
