Your videos have a become a fantastic addition to my scripture studies. Considering that our God is a master creator, it makes sense that a volcanic eruption in Santorini set in motion the plagues of Egypt. Sometimes it seems easier to believe the ‘hard to explain’ events (how did Moses turn his staff into a snake?) than to have faith to accept that God is a scientist, creator, physician, etc….that has complete understanding and mastery over matter and elements. The comment section is also a great place to discover new things as well. I look forward to your future videos and insights into the scriptures.

Sounds like this was made a couple of years ago. I’m glad you covered these events, both past and future. We, as a church, spend very little time learning about what will happen before the Savior comes. I wish so many people wouldn’t play background music of any kind. So distracting!

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego survived in a firey furnace, Christ fed several thousand with only a few fish and crumbs. A fish just happened to have a coin in it's mouth at the precise time someone asked Christ about taxes. My point is Christ, who is the one who caused the plaques in Egypt, has shown He has the ability to bring about miracles in an instant rather than natural events. In more of a miraculous way.

I enjoyed your video and encourage you to keep making them. I will however say this: Latter-day saints tend to hasten to explain ALL of the miracles and signs of God through the lens of science or at least our understanding of the physical world. I feel that this is because we fear being marginalized by a society which moves increasingly towards scientism and secularism. We don't want to sound like kooks or as irrational cultists. There are however a lot of miracles that cannot be explained by common science such as healings, walking on water, turning water to wine, or resurrection. Whereas many of the signs of the last days are likely to be scientifically explainable, I find it unnecessary to rush to explain the science behind them especially since we may be completely wrong. Now if you want to go into the science of intelligence and the manipulation thereof then that's a whole different conversation, but I don't find it necessary to theorize on "how" everything is going to happen but rather "why" everything is going to happen.

If one reads the Two Witness prophecy carefully, the verse in Rev. 11:14 identifies the Two Witnesses events as the second woe. In Rev. 8:13 the three woes are identified as the last three trumpets, so the second woe is the sixth trumpet, meaning that the Two Witnesses account is the same events as the sixth trumpet but told from a different viewpoint. The reason these events are told from two different perspectives is because John was instructed by the angel to "prophesy again" in Rev. 10:1. Thus the events in Revelation chapters 11 thru 14 are all repeated events told from different perspectives to add more detail. Once we realize that the sixth trumpet and the Two Witnesses prophecy are the same events told from different perspectives we can see two important similarities. The two witnesses have FIRE COMING FROM THEIR MOUTHS and they can send forth PLAGUES. In the sixth trumpet version of the same events the army of 200,000,000 horsemen deliver death to one third of mankind by the FIRE COMING FROM THEIR MOUTHS and in verse 20 it says the the rest of the men not killed BY THESE PLAGUES did not repent. So apparently this angelic army is following the commands of the Two Witnesses and this is what leads to the death of 1/3 of mankind. Since it is the beast from Rev. 17 that eventually kills the two witnesses in Rev. 11:7, I would SPECULATE that the third of the earth killed during these events are followers of the beast.

Not bad. I appreciate you presenting all this a possibilities as opposed to conclusions. It’s all good gospel based speculation. That said, one small suggestion would be to get rid of the ominous music in the background. It takes away from the credibility of your presentation and leans toward sensationalism. I seem to recall something regarding the deaths of the firstborn mentioned in a film called Exodus Decoded. I do not believe in this film 100%, but it does offer some theories. In any case, the firstborn sleep in a low bed. Toxic fumes from volcanic activity creep along the ground and kill basically anything living. So that is one theory.

I have seen shows like the one you referred to on the science channel. Similar to other comments made, I think there are both natural and miraculous events in the Old Testament Exodus story. For instance, when God tells Moses to put his hand in his bosom and remove it the hand is leprous, and when Moses repeats the action his hand is back to normal. Also, the instance of Moses' staff becoming a serpent. However, if you take the view that the Bible is an elaboration on actual events, then it could be these things happened all naturally as you describe in the video, and later on the authors elaborated on the events to create a story. I'm sure people who take this perspective also believe that Noah's flood was a localized event, or that there was some astronomical event associated with the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. I have seen shows on both on the science channel. Although in this line of thinking some people start to use the same strategy to explain all Biblical events and even carry that on to modern church historical events. There are events in modern church history that are miraculous whether it is people being brought back from death or food that miraculously appeared or people who claimed to see angels. So there is a possibility that some or many of the events in the Bible can be explained scientifically and it would be a miracle as far as the timing of the events correlated with the Exodus story. Although the science channel tends to portray the natural events occurring, and then the Biblical authors later on elaborating on the event and adding it to their story. However, other events in the Biblical story cannot be explained scientifically. I do not see the science channel making shows on those miraculous events likely because there is no scientific explanation and they do not believe those events happened anyways. Some people believe all the stories in the Old Testament are just to teach certain principles or to give a history of a group of people. Others believe everything actually happened as is said. These are difficult questions to answer. I am okay not knowing the answers. If God wanted people to know the answers, He would provide the evidence to support the Biblical stories. For instance, people would find Noah's Ark, the Ark of the Covenant, or find definitive proof of a global flood. Instead we are asked to rely on faith.

From the way that I read the scripture, it does not indicate the manner of death, only that they will "lie in the streets". The context of the sentence containing "where also Our Lord was crucified" indicates the city where both sets of martyrs meet their death.

To Put it simple, why are you trying to explain away the Passover? What if a Jewish family happened to live up north right in the middle of path of the volcano ashes. They get the word from their home teacher to place lambs blood on the door entrance but, Because they’re up north, the first born in that house is going to die. In the old testament states ‘And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you’ 12:26

I often think of section 89 and the promises that are there. It will be very important for us to take good care of our bodies along with our spirits but most of all, as you pointed out, is obedience to God. I envision an actual destroying angel for the death of the first born, but you bring up some interesting points.

Concerning the cause of the 10 plagues in Egypt, are you suggesting that they were all a phenomenon of natural occurrences or coincidence, like the Saviors raising Lazarus from the dead was a natural occurrence. * I believe the Scriptures not man. And if something is taught that can't be verified by Scripture think twice about believing it. I understand why so many people are leaving the church. Many false doctrines exist causing countless videos mocking Mormonism. Therefore, who else other than the current Mormon prophet could the apostle Paul be speaking of? It's as plain as the nose on a face. And even God in the Doctrine and Covenants tells us about the current church leaders and how displeased He is saying the end of this world will begin among them.
