An incredible Man . I went to his Grave when I was just 20, I am now 67 , the Grave looks exactly the same as it did 47 years ago. God gave Churchill to Great Britain to rid of us of the 'most monstrous tyranny' ( his words ) . A great author , a great Painter, a brave soldier in Queen Victorias Army - but most of all a Great Statesman and orator . The saviour of his people . God Bless him always .

Winston Churchill is in my family line! He was so incredible, tears come to my eyes, knowing this man's accomplishments! I feel I have failed to measure up to him❗But at the same time, maybe I can just be me, and maybe in some small way, I have also made a difference towards those around me ❗I don't know how to be anyone else but me!

The more I learn about the man, the more I stand in solemn admiration. How I wish that our time would produce such a leader once more: someone with human flaws like us all, but the ability to lead in great adversity and to inspire millions to be brave, perseverent and truthfull in the pursuit of our collective goals. Truely a great man!

yeah the Germans fighting back against Zionism and jewish Bolshevik. Don't forget who ran through the streets of Germany post ww1, men with black suits on, forcing Russian solders to fire on germans, towards the end of pushing communism in Germany.. post ww2. the whole world then goes on a war against communism. If you lived through the blitz... that means your fairly old, and it hugely disappoints me you don't even know the first thing about ww2 or what caused it. Put it this way... do you think Germany wanted war... it was forced on them. go and watch, hitters war what the historians forgot to mention.

I visited the area while camping with the kids. Made sure they saw the the great mans grave. He wasn’t perfect and made mistakes but on the whole served all of us well. I don’t think he would be too bothered by the adverse comments people have posted . He would quietly console himself with the fact that they are at least free to voice an opinion !

As an American, who's father fought in World War II, WInston Churchill is a hero in our eye, and I believe the one single individual who saved Democracy around the world, before America was able to enter the war. His alliance and partnership with FDR was instrumental in saving the world.

Whatever one thinks of him, Winston Spencer Churchill was undoubtably one of the towering figures of the 20th century... and arguably one of the towering figures of the last millenium. He was far from faultless; he could be a snob, a biggot and took very questionable approaches and views on certain issues But he was also a diverse genius, highly cultured, highly intelligent, an iron will, a deep courage and the world owes him gratitude for his wartime leadership.

If Stanley Baldwin and Neville Chamberlain had listened to Churchill in the 1930's much tragedy could have been avoided. Churchill personified the British resistance to Nazi tyranny during the Second World War, and for his fortitude and determination, we should forever be grateful. The United States made him an honorary citizen shortly before death.

@justtakeiteasy The air raids on London set it ablaze, killed thousands, & was designed to break the spirit of a nation that hadn't been invaded in centuries. Churchill walked the streets personally to witness it, in spite of everything his advisors told him he wanted to be with the people in their grief. His speech "we shall fight on the beaches" has gone down as one of the most important in the 20th century. His work at Yalta is something British politicians today can't hold a candle to.

@justtakeiteasy As PM, he resolved that he would rather die than allow Hitler to take Britain. As a result, Britain remained free when most others had fallen, even when France fell he didn't give up. He got the whole country, young and old, behind him (something that hasn't happened in present day Britain in a very long time, I might note) & urged them on to tighten their belts, roll up their sleeves, & remember the line: "Britons never never never shall be slaves."

What always strikes me is that Winston Churchill, one of the towering figures of the 20th Century has a resting place that could be easily missed... in a small village.. in a rural county Not like the huge memorials of communist dictators, or even the elaborate tombs of American presidents Come to think about it other great British premiers also have unassuming resting places... Pitt the Younger, Gladstone, Lloyd George, Attlee.... modesty at death seems to be a British thing

I also think its very easy now to talk about WW2 in retrospective terms. It was an absolute, ideological and mechanised war. A war which saw deaths on an industrial scale. Around 45 million people have been killed in armed conflict in the 66 years since then... less than the estimated 70 million who died in the five years of the war... my point is we have to appreciate decisions in the context of the time and environment in which they were taken.

I'll answer you. It's really very simple. Constantine I, King of Greece was married to Kaiser Wilhelm's sister and therefore was "sympathetic towards Germany". He refused to support Serbia, his ally in the Balkan Wars, and even with a civil war threatening his own country, he still refused to honor his obligations with his allies. His own countrymen was tired of his "betrayal" and alongside his allies Britain, France, Russia and Italy, he was forced to abdicate. His son Alexander was

@justtakeiteasy If Britain fell, Hitler would have had control of the whole British Empire, and the best that India could expect was either subjugation at the hands of a Germanic master race or a situation in which Germany and Japan fought over its landmass like two dogs over a bone: both sides would see India as a place where great money could be made: Germany would want tea, tropical produce, and fungible goods while Japan would look through eastern eyes (CONT)

You need to take a look at the Muslims in Germany. According to Wikipedia List of countries by Muslim Population, in the year 2010 there were 4,119,000 million Muslims in Germany, which was 5% of the total German population. The UK had 2,869,000 which was 4.6% of the total British population. Germany has a lot more Muslims than Britain and a higher percentage than Britain. So it looks like Germany is gonna be ruled by the Muslims before the British. I would say in about 35 years. Ha Ha!
