Loved the Trish part. 49:45 Jet "you're going to continue living here" Sam "i dunno about that.. we'll have to talk about it" Jet "i was joking..... " sam got so serious for a second lol
Lmao, and then the culmination of olivah gay with "Olivah gator". I couldn't explain why that was so funny to anyone who didn't follow the show, it requires way too much context.
well she was good with the challenges, she wasnt scared of frank she even stood up to him and she even ruined his shirt and threw her piss and vomit at him while she also licked his shoes, kissed him, did the hitler salute and talked about repopulating the white race as a faithful 1488 skinhead tradwife soo idk id still put a ring on her lmaoo
Shinji: "Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas Mr. Thomas!" The show straight up ended like the ending of Metal Gear Solid 4 and Merry Chirstmas Mr. Lawrence combined. Going to miss watching this each evening and staying up late, despite the time zone to enjoy one of the best reality shows ever created. I hope all the contestants go on to better things, hopefully we will see them all again Space Cowboy.
I wish the fish were actually smart enough this season to keep the Synanon style cult plot going. The attic and all the build up with forcing them to shave their heads just to have this season devolve into boxing matches over and over, even though they were funny, was a bit of a let down compared to season 1.
One night (I forget which Day) Sam was hanging around at the bar with them and admitted the whole "70's self-help cult" plotline to them, that Brian was supposed to be the leader, but that he felt in the end that it was too dark and the audience wouldn't want to watch that.
@@whiteflame24 I did too, but I can see the dilemma. It's a really clever concept, but I can understand that the main concern is for the show to be funny, and they didn't have the confidence to pull that off. In addition to that, cults are a very sketchy area to get into like you can just be intending for it to be a big joke, but you really have to be careful with legitimately giving people psychological torment or delusions that will unlock a mental illness. For one, there was Summer who already was a schizo and to put it lightly, shit is already not going well with her, but imagine if they stuck to the Synanon plot AND decided to keep her on.
Shinji put up a helluva good fight; he even appeared to be landing more punches, but he just didn't have the endurance. Congrats, TJ. In the end, the right man won. Sad to see the show end but it was a fun ride. Thanks for the stellar uploads, Mr. React!
I work 12hr shifts so i have very little free time, without you I wouldnt have been able to watch this amazing piece of history as it was happening, THANK YOU REACT SIMPLY!
it was a good idea with no planning and confused execution, like pretty much everything in the show right down to the 70's vibe. Goran needs to put an ounce of thought and effort into planning/competitions.
@@lebosshog Agreed. Also a shame they didn't slowly ramp up the contests, they went full throttle in the first 2 weeks which caused everyone to leave way too early. In an attempt to make it more interesting than season 1 they made it so the second half of the show was not as interesting.
I expected before it started that S2 would lose some of the magic of S1, and I think it was the case; but I think they'll have learned a lot from this one and S3 will bounce back a bit (albeit still not rivalling S1).
Watching this I realized halfway through how badly smoking cigarettes affect your lung. If shinji wouldn’t have been sucking them down so much he absolute would have won that 50k
No, he lost because he was actually expending energy in the "boxing match" which was set up in a way that didn't actually reward him for engaging in boxing
Fitting that the last words of this season were TJ saying "Thank you for watching." It didn't have the freshness of Season 1, but it was still a wild ride. I'm hoping season 3 will be even better.
It turns out that the best strategy is to be willing to take a beating over and over again while having the endurance of a mountain goat. You cross-country kids are built for the Fishtank. That was a legitimate Rope-a-dope move by TJ. Beautiful ending! I'm glad he won.
Looking back, S2 had higher highs but also way lower lows than S1 and more of the lows. Can't say I wasn't entertained but at the end of S1 I didn't feel like I wasted time but after S2 I do. 6 Fish leaving/getting kicked early + Jet and Sam just winging it the entire time hurt the show way more than was necessary. Better planning and structure would benefit this format greatly. As a viewer, I had a hard time getting invested because Jet could come in at any moment and say "Umm uuh well that doesn't count" or "you won? oh best out of 3 I guess xD" or "uuuh we didn't plan for that outcome, lets ask chat/do a poll" Also Sam constantly asking twitter for ideas (you know the compliation) was weak too. 7/10, had great potential, weak as a follow up of S1 but still had its own charme.
I agree. Assuming the show continues on for many seasons and retains a cult following, I believe season 2 will be looked back on as underrated and appreciated in the years to come.
I mean, the winging it is both part of the charm and also part of the scheme. The viewer is being gaslight, misled, deceived, as well. It’s classic Sam Hyde. This season was weaker because the characters weren’t as engaging, there were too many cameras/house was too big, and the lunatics left early on. Fish retention was better first season, and it was in a smaller space, so the tension was higher…but ultimately fish selection is not something that can be tested before the show goes live. It feels a little like production stepped up the show a notch in sophistication and complexity, which was actually a detractor. Season 1 ruled because it was literally people trapped in a banal hell house with nowhere to go, nothing to entertain them during down time, and long stretches of mind rotting boredom punctuated by moments of insanity. This season was missing that, this season felt like orchestrated chaos in a way that was different and may not as effective as season 1
nah, I knew the moment they brought Taylor on the show. Shaggy dog gets the girl is the most bankable formula. the show wasn't gonna allow for a winner that has a lesser narrative unless something extraordinary happened, like Shinji knocking out TJ. . To his credit, TJ did well in the final 2 days.
Best fight of the season, couldn't have asked for a better finale. I got a lot of respect for Shinji going until he literally had nothing left. Congrats to TJ, he earned it.
Lets Fuckin Go! Watching this mans growth and awkwardness turn into confidence this season was awesome. Weeks of challenges and Boxing the judge knowing hes gonna get wrecked, to demolishing a whole day of challenges and eating loads of gross shit to then boxing for 10 mins straight and beating shinji. Tj is a Fucking Champion Now.
Who else was mesmerized by the Judge appearing to morph into a spiritual pink entity glowing with violet and pink? Looked like he was CGI'd to look like he was from another dimension
6:24 Hyde was still hurting. The other 2 really stepped up in the final days, but Tay filled a void in the show that Brian and Jimmy had left weeks ago, and truthfully, played it better than they did. I understand people falling for the shaggy dog and FOB asian, but there will aways be the contestants who don't have the personality quirks to win an audience and have tap into a competitive "dog eat dog" mindset to make it through to the end -- at the start of the show Tay did not appear to be that type. . . TJ and Shinji had sorta already won in a sense. Tay crossing the finish line was a bigger statement.
I was rooting for Shinji from early on in the show, but that seemed a reasonably fair and satisfying ending. TJ was was a bit of an idiot and wuss a lot of the time during the show, including the final challenges, but still- he had the dog in him, and, boy did he eat up those punches
They didn’t disclose how much but I’m sure they got paid for each day they were in the house. Greg was beloved by most viewers and production, I’m sure they did right by him
Yeah imo ending it with a boxing match, no headgear like this was a very bad judgement call. No doubt this was emotional but mostly due to pure exhaustion/stress. S1 felt much more cinematic in comparison.
@@ggeessttaalltt TJ took way more headshots though, and he seemed alright. I think it was the piss poor diet they had, which seemed to effect Shinji more than anyone. Could have been that and maybe the guy wasn't sleeping well. I'm sure he's fine.
Even if tjs boxing gives me extreme anxiety that was a hell of an epic final battle. That japanese kid showed a lot of heart. Real end of mgs epic vibes. Thanks for the clips man.
Very happy with the ending, although the fight was kinda pathetic lol. It’s been a great ride, glad to share with u homie and all the rest from director chat and Psych gang. Purpmaster o7
Why did Ben just seem like he was having a heart attack and chest pains the entire last 15 minutes starting at 44:56 . He was keeled over most of time and kept grabbing his stomach and chest.
i feel like it was because they knew the last challenge would be a boxing match and i think it just came down to these two being the more interesting final battle. and it was those two had each other on their knees but Tay would have probably lost regardless she already lost to TJ
I thought the ending was a perfect win for Shinji, literally dying and still got the most actual boxing points. But they didn't score it on actual points and TJ won by not doing much and just having more stamina.
TJ needed it more. Funny because I think if it was 2v1 against Tay in an actual fight she probably would have won. The final three were all the perfect contestants for this season
@@Verbose-ir7sfmaybe she's got more killer instinct and a naturally better technique than either of them. That hook she got Trish with was well executed, the times she went at Frank you could see she's got the fire in her belly that will drive some to win when backed into a corner. "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, its the size of the fight in the dog"
@@anndozonwndxuewarttr how would he lol no real training plus his "matches" are against people who also lack technique at all. Pushing fists at each other for 20 minutes, maybe 3 punches were thrown lol
tj if you ever read this you have the world in your hands you can do anything you put your mind to(please come back for season 3 and secure taylor she loves u man)
even though i find Shinji and TJ super boring and was hoping Tay would win their end of match heart to heart really got to me it was great seeing an epic showdown like that and them still be friends in the end
Anyone saying that this season is rigged needs to calm down and not get so attached to an autistic stranger you found on the internet…let it go it’s not like it’s your 50k they are giving to TJ
Tayleigh should’ve won. They just wanted TJ and Shinji to box and wouldn’t have been able to have a fair fight with Tay. Shinji and TJ are just Josie part 2 and had it easy the whole way.
Tayleigh was the least popular of the 3 fish amongst the viewers, other fish and perhaps production; and she also remained behind in points in the final 'Tank Olympics' despite having the huge chips advantage. No way.
No she shouldn’t have. Unfortunately she followed productions faux advice of being the villain which worked against her. Plus she has a dogshit personality
Tj was coddled with doctor visits from fights that he chose to have. He should have been eliminated when his rib wasnt cracked, just bruised. Completely rigged in his favor
@@iamgnash in S1 they took Vance out the house to let him film WP2! And Josie was even more coddled to victory. Tay was also let off by not getting kicked for punching Trish or threatening Frank with scissors. And even if what you said had any merit, then Shinji still would have also been ahead of her on everything.
Vance wasn't handed the win like TJ was. TJ was allowed to rehydrate with an IV, get fresh air, interact with normal people, and get his health checked while the rest of the contestants weren't allowed this. TJ was handed the win by production because nervous redditor paypigs relate to his nebbish demeanor. Pink eye and a bruised rib aren't serious medical issues, he just bitched out and production didn't have plans for a 1v1 finale that didn't involve the fake "growth" of a contestant. Production openly rigged the whole show in front of the cameras, and this is somehow hard for you to accept.@@PhatInAHat
