Hey Colin, feel free to watch our back catalogue of site tours 😂 and don’t forget to buy a sand castle flag next time you’re at the seaside for your site map pointer 🤣 . Cheers, Rob & Gail
Thank you for the compliment Mathew and pleased you enjoyed my video. Just had a look and spotted a couple of caravans next to the dog walk. The weather wasn’t too bad for us all. Thanks for watching, All the best Rob
Will take your points on board Derek. There were bus stops close to site entrance but no footpaths along Crich Lane, just grass verges. Thanks for watching and take care. Rob
Lovely looking site where you stayed with plenty of character Rob. The look on your face said it all, out at last 😀 Cheers for taking us with you on this one, and not often you see a six sail windmill! 👍
Hi Mart & Jo, I didn't realise it is the only six-sailed stone tower windmill in England! Yes a very happy holiday enjoyed by both of us. All the best. Rob
Hi Kev, Great tidy site with good friendly wardens. It was great to get those walking boots out again, they do some mileage! A good helping of sunshine after the showery start, can't complain. Cheers. Rob
Looks a nice well run site, I could see you where ready for an outing also nice to see you good lady. Keep up the good work I enjoy watching your videos
Your compliments are much appreciated Harry, thank you very much. We're now back in holiday mode and looking forward to the next one. Best regards. Rob
Thanks Rob for your reply and advice on other RU-vid sites for help Having read a few I’ve decided that the easiest way I can do this will be to take a couple of wires direct from the battery to a new separate dedicated for solar tow bar socket and put it in the front locker and then stick a 7s plug in place of the crocodile clips on the solar panel It wasn’t quite what I really wanted to do but in light of lack of information I ain’t got a choice lol Enjoy your caravanning. Look forward to watching some more interesting site reviews and guides Thanks again John
Been having another look John. Search in RU-vid for - The Trudgians Solar Panel and Young Tourers Solar Panel. These two videos may give you ideas on what to use such as a voltage controller. Dan Trudgian explains the controller. Hope this helps. Rob
Enjoy your blogs and the tech info somebody has given me a foldable solar panel with crocodile clips I'd like to remove the clips and replace them with a 7 s socket I can't seem to find any information on which pins would correspond with the 7pin plug on the caravan so I can plug the 7 pin plug direct into the solar (new) socket to charge up the caravan battery Hope you can help but if you don't give technical info then I understand Keep up the brilliant no nonsense vlogs very enjoyable thanks
Hi John, I haven't dealt with solar panels however, reading various websites and watching RU-vid videos there are two different 12S sockets pin allocations and some solar panels require a charging controller. There is lots of information on the caravan club website type in their search box towbar wiring and there is a pdf download. This explains the pin allocations. But remember for example a pin on the left looking into a plug is the opposite side when looking into the socket. Also type in solar panels and there is information and links to 12v solar panel suppliers that show useful information. Also type in Google search "campsites uk connecting solar panel to 12v socket" There is a duscussion forum where someone is asking a similar question. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful with this one. Hope things work out and thank you for the compliment Cheers. Rob
We enjoyed our stay there very much Howe. I have a video titled Caravan Fully Serviced Pitches - Part 3 of 4 - Grey Waste Drainage. Take a look and it should explain how I set up for waste water. You may find my answers to questions useful in the comments section. Hope this helps. Regards. Rob
Hi Rob, I notice you always use your Audi Sat Nav instead of an additional caravan specific sat nav - any issues? I am fairly new to caravanning and know from previous experiences my BMW (5 series) sat nav can take you places you would not want to be with a caravan …… any suggestions due to your experiences?
Hi Ken, In my sat nav settings there are 'fastest', shortest' and 'econ' options. I have mine set to 'econ'. It then sticks to main routes but there have been a couple of occasions when it wanted to take me on a road I didn't think was appropriate. When this happened I carried on driving and it re-calculated the route. Other than that it's been spot on. I'm pleased on how it performs as I'm not a fan of add-on dashboard or windscreen mounted sat navs. Hope this helps and all the best. Rob
