Erin Hanson presents the development of Open Impressionism over the first 10 years in this anniversary video from 2017. Erin Hanson's Portfolio: www.erinhanson.com/portfolio
It is more than visible how her style evolved and became stronger in expresion and depth over the last years. It is almost as a fusion of strip drawing and clasic impressionism. But the final result is so much more. She really developed an unique style❤.
It was wonderful to watch the evolution of your style. I have not heard of the term Open Impressionism before, but I like the vibrant, attractive style. There is a hint of Tom Thomson in the bold, beautiful, impasto brush strokes. Much thanks for this video of your excellent work.
Hello Erin Hanson. I have followed your website for a few years but have not seen this video. By now I can't be any more than 110% amazed. You are so generous showing closeups of your paintings, and I have learned so much about how you structure them, and what is the actual construction process. Most paintings on this video I have not seen on the website. Gee, there must be going on 2000, (all sold I also imagine). What a great group of collectors of your work. and your great confirmation. You often tell the story about when you decided to do a painting each week. But I am sure you do at least 150 each year? And then you go trecking to take photos and spend weekends exhibiting at art shows. How can that be possible? Your special secret that I am trying to figure out is how you get such fantastic color schemes out of just natural colors in a photo? Sure, there is the “red rock” country. But nothing like you portray it. Your sense of color must be truly your own. I like the petite collection, because many are simple and you’re able to see that each stroke is essential. Are any of the petite paintings plaine aire? You should say so if they are, and please show a photo of where you were painting from.
Absolutely stunning work! Shares similarities to the Australian oil painter Richard Musgrave-Evans, who largely paints in the outback with very large palette knives. Thank you very much - wonderful to see how an artist develops.
I'm absolutely stunned. What a beautiful body of work. It's interesting to see how almost dull the paintings with mostly naturalistically green landscapes look next to all the boldly coloured ones. Highly inspiring and a lot to learn from!
Just discovered you today!! Your work is amazing, inspiring and moving!!. I’m a New oil painter here and Ive been looking for a style that uses vivid, bold colors. Already printed your Home Study course from your website and can’t wait to get started. You should do some videos or zoom classes❤️
your colorful stages each a living stained glass window shared thru your eyes with all.. I am humbled and awesomely inspired as an artist...thank you...…...x

Erin I love your art and your unique style.watching your paintings is like a spiritual experience. You feel you are transported in the midst of nature. Simply beautiful.
Underrated artists litter history thanks to money and those who use art to profit from. If money stopped , art would continue regardless. Love your work Erin. It reminds me of the Russian impressionists a little. Hwyl from Wales.
Its like watching natural world created by Erin Hanson Thankyou for sharing your huge body of work. I wonder if your sold every piece or like most artists you had many works that were not wanted? Nevertheless you have soldiered on to this destination. Well done you are a very humble and inspiring soul

I think you are just making up a style of art and calling it your own. You are the only one talking about it. Yet your art looks no different then anyone else’s.....
