Kinda weird that you had to infer that badgermoles were the first Earth masters when the show literally and explicitly states that they are, no inference needed. In fact, there's someone who explicitly states all of the original masters. Aang, for example, tells Katara and them that the Air Bison were the original air masters, and I think Katara says that it was to moon for Water. Multiple people, iirc, directly refer to Dragons as the original masters of fire, and I think it was said in Secret Tunnel that the badgermoles were the first masters of Earth?
Yup. In the last few episodes of Season 1 we're told that the Moon was the first Waterbender. In the beginning of Season 2 we're told that badgermoles were the first Earthbenders. And in Season 3, we're told that dragons were the first Firebenders and Sky Bison were the first Airbenders.

Because we were so accustomed to the animals being the original benders in their respect domain for each element, I never considered that the Moon is the original Waterbender until this video explains the logic of it. The gravitational pull from the Moon to the Earth does have an effect on water which explains why the tides rise and falls with every phase constantly shifting from time to time. Seeing how that no creature in existence has ever influenced water in such a way that what could be considered miraculous clearly shows that the people behind the scenes did their research before taking into consideration.
That’s one of the reasons I was really confused at first when trying to determine who the original water bending master was. I am really happy I was able get the point across of the moon being the original bender in an easy manner !! And I agree I believe the original creator did so much research and put in a lot of extra details in every scene of the show
I think I’d want to bend earth. Instances like toph being able to move objects closer or away like in “the chase” it would really make the lazy side of me happy
id say air bending because theoretically since i can control the air i can make a vacuum around my body and move almost to the speed of light while also feeding myself fresh oxygen. Not sure how that would work in space since its already a vacuum and there is no air. or the affect going that fast would have directly on my body.
It always bothered me just a tiny bit that it's not four different kinds of animals. The moon really doesn't fit the pattern (even though it's a very cool idea). If I ever associated any animal with waterbending, it was probably the Unagi from the episode The Warriors of Kyoshi. It can spit out a powerful water jet after all.
I see what your getting at and you do have your points , it makes me curious if peaceful water bending animals really exist in the world because when it comes to the water tribes we rarely see any animals around maybe because its up by the north and south pole .
I would love to be an earthbender, it is the most op bending, bending metal, rocks, lava, mimicking airbending with sandbending no need to carry a tent, you can make your own in 10 seconds seing through walls seing in the dark knowing when someone is lying there are also theories that suggest earthbenders could use bone and plant bending and I would not be the avatar, I am not responsible enough
@@mello.art0 yes, I am not a fan of being forced to fight the most powerful firebender of the world to save the world or having my bending token away by a psychopatic bloodbender and having nightmares about it for weeks or getting betrayed by my oncle or fighting the spirit that literally is the source of evil or getting kidnapped by a secret organisation that want to kill me and having nightmares about it for years or fighting a dictator in a giant mecha I don’t want to do that
I have a question. So for airbenders to gain the ability to fly they need to let go of their earthly attatchments. There was a nice theory that because from a young age nowadays airbenders bond with their sky bison for life they will always have an earthly attatchement and will never fly (but who cares u got a cool lil fluffy flying bison all is good) but the sky bison CAN fly and they do have earthly attatchment such as their airbending buddy's so does the earthly attatchment flying thing not apply to sky bison? Or do all sky bison secretely hate their air bending mate's but they stick around anyway to not go extinct. APPA HATES ANG?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I actually had a part in this video where I explained my own take on this , I took it out because it did not fit the video topic much , I do think the air bision and the fact that they have homes now such as the air temples are some of the reasons they have attachment to the world which prevents them from flying
I also feel in the case of the sky bision it does not count since flying is probably built into them like a bird its just something they are taught how to do at a young age . unlike human air benders they are just taught how to do cool air bendeing tricks lol and then reply on the gliders instead
if sky bisons are the companions of air nomad avatars and dragons used to be the companions of fire nation avatars, what animals are for the water tribe avatars and earth kingdom avatars? i don't remember there ever being shown for kiyoshi or that water bender who lost his wife's face to koh the face stealer. and although korra has a polar bear dog, i don't think that's the standard animal companion of all water tribe avatars.
Yeah its sad that in the series and comics we dont get much animals associated with the water tribes , and for the earth kingdome they do have the bears, and badgermole who were the original teachers
@@mello.art0 i suppose i can understand the logic behind why there's no standard animal companion with the water tribe avatars given that it's the moon and ocean (with the koi fish as physical manifestation) that are the original water benders, but i think they could have used the bears and badger moles more. badger moles in a fight would have been really cool. i imagine a badger mole having the tenacity of june's shirshu but with earth bending would have been so dope. same with bears, whatever hybrid bear it is, could have the presence of hei bai's angry alter. since the sky bisons and the dragons are airborne, i suppose there could have been airborne creatures for the water and earth avatars. some kind of griffin / eagle / horse hybrid could be for the earth, and a snow owl / sea snake hybrid could be for water. both giants like the sky bison and dragon so they can also be the transport cheat code for earth and water.
