i have no idea why people compare this game so much to warframe when the free to play experience on warframe is even less generous lmao and i play warframe since beta
I think its absurd to leave cosmetics exclusive to whales, i probably spent more time customizing my warframes thsn actually playing it and i was hoping to do the same with The First Descendant but devs dont want f2p players to even touch customization, like they give colors for free but you cant even use it because we cant use on the standard costume. I just want they to wake up and make the prices more affordable for the avarage poor person, not everything needs to be locked behind a huge paywall.
Bro, when I saw how much a catalyst was for my damn descendant....I quit. Knowing how easy it is to get it in warframe. This game is absolutely disgusting
I was really into this until I started the grind for the final piece for the Divine Punishment gun. After looking at what I needed to do, I simply decided this game was no longer for me lol
@@hamsterrwrld6767 Idk if your tryna be funny or not, but your right. I rather not waste my time grinding hours upon hours for 1 item that could possibly change my opinion on not deleting trash because of repetition. Have fun with your $100 skins and Asians ripping you off 🤡
@@hamsterrwrld6767 Btw I only play quality games. Games like COD, Battlefield, etc. just for a temporary shooter fix. I’m an Insurgency Sandstorm guy actually. You wouldn’t know anything about that though.
The Game is fun as hell, Im enjoying some of the grind, but farming access to the catalysts and energy activators you need to really make your characters strong is crazy and the costs to outright buy them are pretty out of line. I hope they launch some events with high drop rates on the catalysts and energy activators
I enjoyed playing this game more than i would Destiny.. Seriously the season of the enigma puzzles everywhere and tiring dual Destiny mission and collecting fragments through tedious progress
@@charlesgentry3758 it ain't laziness I already got 40 hours in it. Its called having a life and touching grass. I don't spend my whole day on a game. Yesterday turned in 17 amorphous material trying to get gleys blueprint and nothing afters hours of farming them
Yeah, or just shit luck, lol. I've played enough games with RNG that I'm used to it now. I did the same mission 11 times for one of Sharon's pieces which had an apparent "20% drop rate".
@@glenjr2006 In warframe, Orokin catalyst/ reactors and Forma, the equivalent to the Descendant capacity booster and Slot type changer, can be bought for 20 platinum which is only around 1/3 of 75 platinum which costs $4.99. While in The First Descendant they cost 30$… For one. Also, in warframe, you can trade for that amount VERY easily even as a beginner. It’s not laziness, it’s predatory mobilization.
You will always hear people bitching about shit. The game is very enjoyable despite a few flaws. But the game is FREE, I didn't have to spend money to play it😂😂
Both of you guys are correct and is exactly my experience 100% I have like 30 hours in the game and haven’t paid a dime.. I could put it down today and be happy that I got to have fun for 30 hours for free

I've actually been shocked at how not greedy the game is. Seems like almost everything can be obtained by playing. They really leaned into Warframe in that way.
The most annoying part of the game is farming energy activator 1 part have a 3% drop farm it for 10hrs got nothing and it cost 25$ and warframe counter part just cost 5$....
Everyone comparing it to destiny and Warframe, none of you remember how base and bare bones both of those games started off, tfd already has more characters to choose than Warframe had suits, more mechanics. If you want to do accurate comparisons then compare base destiny from 2017 and base Warframe from 2015 and tfd is way better, I think if the player base stays up and they get 7 years in it will be considered one of the best looter shooters out there
And anyone bitching about the micro transactions being expensive well then play the game an earn your way. I think it's acceptable them being that high, you wanna pay to win then you're gonna PAY. otherwise get to grinding

@@kingdrakoo8128 Or maybe because it's just boring running these dungeons solo and having to make groups yourself? This is literally just anti-fun. GTFO here with that elitist nonsense like you have to be some amazing player to be good in this game..
the problem is these high lv players are going to the boss fights and killing the boss in a matter of seconds. to me, this ruins it for the lower lv players and they don't have a chance to enjoy trying to take the boss out. there should be a lv cap on which lv players can participate in these boss fights. make it more balanced out
It shouldn’t really bug you some people are farming the bosses for there mats just be grateful you’re getting people like that instead of incompetent people matchmaking is insufferable for me undergeared lvl 12 trying to go against a lvl 35 boss then level 40s dying every two seconds and somehow blaming it on the team in text chat
@@sadboivibes5590yeah I was stuck withh the pyromaniac boss at least for 3 hours, until a team of a higher level join the game, bro I was so greatful with them!!!! I just want to pass that boss, don’t even care about the loot XD
@@erickr.c.guiitar3974you shoulda been stuck your the tyoe of player that i played with on devourer and ended up having to do it solo because someone people cant shoot weak points or the symbiotes
Steam player counts create self fulfilling prophecies, and they are not indicative of the amount of people playing the game on other platforms. I have experienced this multiple times.
I think the games fun. I’ve been wanting to play a warframe/ destiny type game but wanted to start from the beginning. I love that you can solo this game as I prefer to play games solo. The cash shop is kinda crazy tho, $100 for the really nice descendants is way too much. $10-$20 okay it 100 no and the battle pass iirc doesn’t even come with a descendent which is super dumb. Ima still play but I’m keeping my eyes on the pay2play parts
I'm having fun with what the game is, but considering Nexon's history with drop rates, I'm super suspicious on some of the rates. I have grinded 20-50% drop rate items and it has taken me forever to get them and way more runs than I feel is realistic for those rates. And this has happened consistently for multiple items.
Nexon needs to make this game more friendly for solo players - especially that mission in Kingston’s Slumber Valley where you eventually fight this super difficult boss named Greg the Star-Crossed. I’m a casual low-level solo player and IMHO, this particular boss fight was not designed with solo players (like myself) in mind.
I like the game and I’m enjoying it 💙 it’s a lot of people still playing and a lot of people applaud the dev’s for updating us and addressing bugs 🙂a lot of game companies don’t do that so it’s important to appreciate their effort and also be open minded that the game just came out a few days ago.
Games like this dont retain players because it's too grindy or people just dont understand looters. This game if for looter shooter vets. Destiny, warfame, borderlands players. Im still enjoying it. Grinding missions for legendarys is fun to me imo
Besides no matchmaking on hard mode, I enjoy this game and would say it’s one of my favorite games I have ever played. Even more blessed that it’s free to play. Sure it does need a little bit of tweaks, but I would say I’m super addicted to this and looking forward to many play hours to come.
I am enjoying the game a lot, I like that there are plenty of characters that are easy to farm, mtx I don't think they affect that much, progression is really fast on the game and cosmetic stuff is just cosmetic, I can clear everything with my started Descendant Ajax w/o issues... drop rates are messed I think, but still not as bad as old school MMOs haha
If this game grows the same community as warframe this game is gonna go far Cuz boy oh boy the warframe community is GOATED Ain’t nobody toxic in there love it! And this game is pretty damn good
Im loving this game. I did spend almost all weekend just playing it! If you are someone who plays a lot of warframe and destiny, im sure you will enjoy it. You can pretty much get all for free as long as you are willing to grind for it. Now that said, i seriously hope they do change their approach to microtransation, especially the colors for the skins because that is insane.
ps. the grind is the the gameplay loop with games like this. if you pay to boost the grinds you are just skipping playing games....boost should be expensive imo so not everyone HAS to buy them
Micro transactions mean absolute nothing it's the game and gameplay that is important if you spend extra money on things that's completely on you and what happens after that
7:29 If they really want to pick up folks & retain they should feed the algorithm. Add lore people could discuss for days. Spin off series, comics & what not. If you give folks something to start more community & conversations on the money prints. I miss think lore books with unnecessary & obscure character reads. Battlechasers?
Lol why wf has a great trade system and the monetization is not even in the realm of TFD. You're probably going to get a lot of replies from WF players about not needing to spend. I got 4k hours in WF and I've only spent about $150 in about 7-8 years. It was by choice to show support and no I'm not a founder. I just got so much out of WF for free and loved how they treated us that it felt wrong not to show them some support.
Bro I just grinded like 4 characters got a bunch of the upgrade joints. It's not hard to grind lol but yall keep buying yall characters plz I love this game sooo keep buying lmao this game needs to go on lol
I am considered a 'whale' when it comes to games by my friends. I have yet to spend money on the game. I want to see how far a free to play account can go. It is very grindy when trying to get blue prints for weapons and characters. I tell my friends "First Descendant, is like 'Destiny' and 'Outriders' had a baby and 'Warframe' is its Uncle."
Is it me, or is everyone just negative about video games? Like we can't have a game come out, be fun. No, it's got to have a road map, or the game is dead. A game comes out with a road map. Oh well, that doesn't matter because it has to be good. The game has only been out a week, and you are being super critical. Not even helldivers 2 got bashed this much and it costs money.
Doesn't matter who makes it, what genre it is or what it actually costs. Everyone lately has been tring to ruin every game that drops. They all bad mouth games left and right just to bum out the player base and then they leave the game and it dies. I see people reviewing helldivers 2 warbonds saying "Is this one worth your money?" Who is paying for warbonds? I just casually play a couple matchs each month and have enough to get each one. Everyone wants to be a doom poster because negative news gets clicks. If people genuinely don't like a certain game that releases, cool. Go play what intrests you but don't drag other people down when they want to enjoy it.
@nathanielrasey I can't even be excited for dead rising because people think everything is dei. They use photogrammetry and have to find real people to replicate people in the game. So people assume it's dei because they change the race of a characters who looked strange as hell to begin with. Not a single game that people are mostly excited about that you don't have people on the opposite field that stir the pot with controversy that they wouldn't have bought in the first place. People say remove the timer, and yet they didn't buy dead rising 4. People find reasons to not like something rather than what is good about a game.
@@raven80wolfx2yeah people complain just to complain i don’t know why they say dead rising is woke i bet you some of them aint even played the game before
was so ready to drop 100$ to get some stuff then i saw the prices and shit jut pissed me off. ham wait a bit see if the prices drop. charging for colors is wild.
I find it funny people complain about grinding this game which literally follows the Warframe format. I swear people always complaining if you don't like it move on I think this game is awesome and will continue to play. This video sounds like crying😅
Everyone keeps saying it is $100 but it isn't. That is the character and a bunch of extras. She is at most $70, which is still alot but it is still a far cry from $100.
Everyone in the comments section is in the honeymoon phase. So far I like the game but it has the depth of the smallest puddle on Earth. There is little to no meat on the bone here. I like the bones I just pray and hope they correctly and properly build upon it. They obviously judge a lot of this off of Warframe and destiny so I hope they learn from warframes colossal mistakes over the years, but we won't know until a couple years go by. Put the amount of grind that's in the game right now is not a good sign it is not okay the levels of some of this s***. Also once you hit max level there's no content to do doing the same handful of bosses isn't content for end game. I really dislike the people that too harshly attacked the microtransactions but also the fans defending them are even worse and more cringe to me. This is some of the most predatory microtransactions I've ever seen in this type of game. Warframe does it really badly but this game does the same thing but a 1000 times worse so maybe they'll fix it maybe they'll ease up but I doubt it they are Korean and they never let up. If they don't within a month or two the game's going to have 500 players online.
Bruh people forgot that the game is free ??? Of course they have to do money some way or other, in this case, micro transactions!!! I already spend like 80 bucks which for me is the perfect price for the game. Has pretty cool graphics and the game mods that have are great… I don’t know why people want everything free or cheap these days, for real ! If is expensive just don’t buy it, that simple. For me the ultimate bunny bundle is expensive, so I didn’t buy it, prefer to spend the 80 dollars on different skins for the others characters! 🙄
Crazy how everyone wants AAA games served to them on a platter for free. The Devs gotta eat somehow. This isn't a new concept either, its pretty much expected when a game launchs FTP. I think the people complaining are doing it because they are the ones that have no self control and will buy everything in the game.
Okay I have to call out your massive cope about the free to play in your hours and joy and how it's okay and you can forgive all the predatory bulshit. You can have the f****** time of your life and spend $100 off of $5 spit and feel like you got your money's worth but that's literally irrelevant to the reality and facts of the predatory bulshit going on in this game. You don't have to soften it by saying oh well I get a hundred hours out of this I spent $10 so I feel like this is all okay, no both things can be true in ways but just call out the b******* don't f****** Pat it with all that s*** dude. Yes the game's fun but 99% of its systems and grind in monetization is f****** b******* and your amount of fun you had is irrelevant to that
The grind of this game is so bad you will be playing for days to get materials void battles are trash this game will be dead in a month Warframe was not the best from start and now 11 years later is most popular free game first descendant will never have so much content like Warframe and all is free first descendant will have paid dlc that is certain
Don't spread lies cause you don't like the game. Everything but the battlepass and cosmetics are unlockable by playing. It is going to take a while but you don't have to spend money. The game has been out for about a week. Don't expect to have a crap ton of stuff unlocked in 7 days.
@nathanielrasey it's my opinion and there is no lies you are blind by graphics and the gameplay not my problem if you cant see the full picture where this game going if there is no fix for the monetization system Many youtubers and streams play the game and talks about this i hope you are enjoying your time farming and grinding ,Respect
This game will die in less than a year. Console x PC Crossplay will make the population good for long time but not longer than a year or year and a half.
To be fair.....this is the LEAST COMPLICATED GAME of the 3. I have played Destiny and Warframe for more than 5 years and this game is less grinding than those 2. You cam complain all you want but this is the easier of those 3 games, just straight forward!
