Actually when you dismount a horse it might glitch and disappear... You just need to log in again for it to appear! One of the glitches that have not yet been fixed in minecraft till now... Cause horses is so underrated

SB he did it in 1.14 because there was a pillager tower, new textures & New Villages. But at the time of uploading it, the bee update wasn't out.

Hotses used to despawn in those version and spawn in back when we relaunch the game

I remember watching that video you are talking about. It was good. Where his horse went missing it glitched & later he found it there. Just with he had showed finding it. I had that happen to me on games.

I think it was his first video but he had a couple attepts before this so he knew what to do for the first few days and stuff

That SAME EXACT thing used to happen to me with horses a couple years back..... I would get off and turn around to look right back and it was gone! One time 1 was gone for a day. 1 time 1 was gone for literal weeks and then, poof 1 day it was back! Same horse, same name tag I put on it, same armor, and had a saddle just like it did when it disappeared!

About the elytra being too OP (in your opinion not mine) you can just actively not use an elytra. You're not required to use one.

The way his second horse disappeared is because there was a glitch in that version of minecraft that made horses turn invisible
