Cool 2nd unboxing! So the problem I was chasing was the carb would not open 100% when not in the cut. Wasn’t related to porting or power increase, they have a lot of flex in the av mounts so once the bar hits the wood the flex would allow the throttle open up all the way. I noticed they changed the throttle trigger on my newer one. The muffler I only took the baffle out. The cylinder mostly got exhaust port work. I’ll have post the pics I have from your saw.
Will take your word for it on the increased power. Seemed like I could sense a pulsing of the rpm and sharpness of the chain was't optimal but overall good real world video.
I'll admit, , I've not heard of "Pinkway" until your videos! But I admittedly prefer my cantankerous, old, quirky Echo saws (since I am also cantankerous and quirky 😅)
I am not convinced that a completely free flow exhaust is a good idea on a chainsaw for general use. Without any back pressure it sucks a lot more fuel and potentially takes away from real world cutting with little more than a ridiculous increase in noise. My Proyama PCS68 came with a completely open muffler and it is so loud as to be uncomfortable for anyone within fifty feet. I am seriously considering having a baffle made for it.
Very interesting perspective, thank you for sharing. I know there are people who dislike port jobs, I feel that porting has a place with some saws - not all (even if you technically can port a saw, doesn't mean you should, if that makes sense). Thanks for watching and for your sub, keep cuttin'!
@@travisdoesfirewood I am not against a ported machine, as long as it isn't simply maxed out horsepower and no practical midrange for practical use. However, that is for me. If someone is building a hard core race saw I often still admire them with zero interest in running them. Any combustion engine is simply an air pump and maximizing the efficiency is a good thing. Does that make sense?
Totally makes sense. I guess the purpose of this project was to see if it could be done and to be the first (because it's like $100 saw so why not - type thing). You have good points. I think there's a lot of pros who port, modify, or do muffler adjustments to get most power possible without gaining weight on a saw (but I could be wrong). Thank you for engaging with my channel!
