The FIRST FPV Drone Beginners Should Buy In 2023 

It's an awesome proper fpv drone! The only issue is the repairability, price, maneuverability, weight, customizability, and robustness. They just gotta fix those issues and it's a great deal. Buying a CineWhoop as your first drone to do proper FPV flying and maneuvers is begging for disaster imo

​@@ontrada Is your goal to fly for fun as a hobby and freestyle or do you plan on professionally filming for your career or similar? Either way you should get a controller first (Radiomaster Pocket or Radiomaster Boxer) and a simulator (Velocidrone or similar) and fly a ton in the sim before flying in real life. If you want to learn how to just fly in general and acrobatic moves you should get a tiny whoop size first. These are small drones that fly mostly inside and will handle countless crashes as you learn how to fly and they are cheaper. You will need to decide on a video system. Walksnail/DJI is better for cinematic while analog and hdzero is used for acrobatic fun flying. Whats your current plan?

I think it’s got a bit too much power to fly indoors, you realistically want to go for a small whoop like the BetaFPV Meteor75 Pro, but even then it’s a bit tricky to start flying indoors. I’d recommend going this Defender 20 route, it’ll cost you a bit more to get in initially but after that there won’t be much to upgrade and you’re pretty much giving yourself the best experience possible whilst making it as easy as possible

No, unfortunately the Avata was only supplied by DJI with the motion controller and does not come with the dual stick controller in standard packages. This will need to be purchased separately. It is a pain but no way around this.

How this setup works togehter?

​@dronteam is a good whoop! In hindsight I would of got the elrs version, because I have the boxer now, so I converted it to elrs. Other than that it's good! I'm flying more on hdzero now though .

It's limiting in the sense that you need to use the DJI transmission system to use this controller. With that being said, pretty much all decent FPV drone builds use the DJI system. So it's limiting in theory, but realistically won't be an issue.

DJI Drones are unique in using GPS and satellites. MOST FPV drones are manual mode only and do not use GPS and therefore satellites are not used and not a problem. This is just an added feature with DJI drones that is not technically needed and not used in other FPV drones.

1. Not super fast, I'm not too sure exactly what however as no GPS 2. 4-5 minutes if flying it pretty well 3. Depends on the output of you controller signal (Technically it could go for many MANY KMs if used with a 1W controller Tx)

The drone is good for indoors but not for outdoors because of its lightweight, its easily swept away in the wind outdoors. The camera as well is not really meant for good videos as you only get analog FPV recording which is very grainy and has a lot of noise and static.

Totally, but if the Avata was ever on someone’s mind to buy, they were already planning on O3 in the first place. I also think it’s a smart investment, gives the best experience possible and is super widely understood/covered in detail for beginners to learn from ✌️
