This is the place to be if you want easy (And simple) FPV drone tips that'll ACTUALLY help you out My name's Brodie, and I've got nearly 4 years of FPV drone flying under my belt, so recently I've set a solid goal for myself: to teach 10,000 'normal, everyday peeps' everything they need to know to get started in this epic hobby, as smooth as possible.
🚁 So why follow along?
1. Honest FPV product reviews that'll have you up-to-date with future-proofed gear 🥽 2. Unlock your own FPV skills that'll have your mates wondering: "How the heck did they do that?" 🤔 3. Simplify your FPV journey as I share secrets to help you sidestep the mistakes I once made 💰
Stuff that DJI rubbish, they're the Apple of drones, overpriced and still underperforming Chinese junk, but more 'expensive' is 'better' right The release of the original phantom brought so many a-holes into the hobby almost destroying it, now mostly thanks to these a-holes were up to our backsides in over regulation.
Reviewers like yourself deserve so much more praise and respect. I’m not much more than just a beginner, had a dji phantom 3 and loved it. That doesn’t mean I have any idea or true appreciation for these machines abilities. It’s been a few years and I was eager to get back into flying for personal pleasure as well as for work (in a farm field/tree farm every day, and having eyes ahead can help determine safe and unsafe areas). The company has a DJI AGRAS T50 for fertilizer spreading, and it made me want to get back into it, buuuut idk what’s good and what’s not for my level. Your review has brought comfort to the purchase as I’d be classified as a newbie with a fresh start. I always appreciate when creators aren’t afraid to be vocal about what can be changed for the better, and frankly DJI should thank you for the brute honesty. A lot of tool/welding companies actually supply their product for a raw review, and it makes the customers that much more appreciative of the company/creator/customer relationship. Cheers mate, got a follow from this guy! 🤙🏼
I've used the FrSky Taranis X9D+ since 2017. I have a RM boxer as a backup but im just to used to the X9D and I feel like its not holding me back in any way
One of the best purchases I ever made was the RadioMaster Pocket. Ever since I got it, I have hardly ever used my much more expensive RadioMaster TX16S anymore. And even when I do, the TX16S feels heavy and clumsy now. Also I twice broken the gimbals on the TX16S and each time the expense to get a new gymbal was more that what I paid for the brand new RM Pocket.
Good comparison, and I understand including the Futaba to make the point of more $ doesn't mean better but you really missed the target not including the jumpers in the comparison.
I've bought a TX12 after a lot of research in late 2022. There was no RM Pocket or Boxer. I agree that the Pocket would be the best for beginners and now I have a Boxer and love it. Great video!
I'm just starting with drones and really enjoyed this video. You made me see why i probably need 2 controllers in the future. 1 Big with all the bells and whistles, 1 small that you can easy drop in a backpack. One thing i'm wondering Why did you leave firmware like edgetx and elrs module support out of the question? It was a long way to find out this is everything my radio needs.
For me, the Boxer doesn't have a real arm switch, the Jumper t20s is my prefered compact choise. And the TX16S fits me best with good area for my hands and a real display
you should have got spektrum radio the 12 has everything and is 1000.00 dollars but the best radio you could ever buy but it big heavy and has a ton of switches. A lot of wing and heli people buy this controller
Great criteria thoughts Brodie! I love my RadioMaster Pocket! Definitely felt like an upgrade from my ELRS modded Jumper T-Lite. So portable and lightweight! The Boxer with AGO1 gimbals looks like the next upgrade when I get into Long Range quads.
I was going to purchase a rm pocket today. You came with the right topic at the perfect time thank you very< much (I will get the pocket, train in sim then buy the mobula6 and the betafpv vr03 goggles and start flying indoors because of regulations.) realy like your uploads keep it up.
I have been using a Frsky X18S on all my quads for the last two years and it has been amazing. It ticks all the boxes you mentioned but instead of using EdgeTX it uses Ethos as an operating system wich is so much more intuitive and easy to use. I think some of the newer radio's from Frsky are a great choice for FPV and are often overlooked in this category. The X18 and the X14 for example are reasonably priced, have great ergonomics and the build quality is better then any Radiomaster product in my opinion.
Hey can you do a fpv setup (ie drone + goggles) at a few price points video pls? I have seen one from another youtuber but its quite old and as I am trying to get into FPV it would be really useful :)
