Dr. Samuel X. Radbill was a 20th century Philadelphia pediatrician and pediatric historian, who collected historical medical literature from all over the world, many of which were donated to our Historical Medical Library. Among his international acquisitions in our collection is the Shoni Hitsuyo-ki series, Japan's first instructional books on childrearing from the 1700s. Join library staff member Shirley Choi for a look at two of these fascinating books!

I just turned 60, and I'll never get tired of learning new things. I can't understand people who just don't seem to have any curiosity about the world around them, its past, or its future.
